  I can't wait to return

  The Anchorage is a hotel in a thousand. Everything was perfect. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished. And spotlessly cleaned every day. The staff were helpful and friendly in the extreme. And the view is stupendous: the harbour, the boats, the rivereverything. I strongly recommend The Anchorage.

  Great time away.

  This was our second long weekend up at the Anchorage, of 4 nights. We did this in early Feb, 2021. We did a few local restaurants and enjoyed walking around Nelson Bay during the evening. The local beaches around Corlette point and the garden walk along the beach is truly gorgeous. While many people will talk about the facilities there, I would like to complement the cooking in the Galley restaurant. We had the paella to share and the roasted lamb shoulder to share as well over two separate nights. The lamb was simply amazing, hats off to the kitchen staff who did it. The paella was also very well done. The staff in general are great to talk to, accommodating, chatty and was good to see them again. They are the resorts main asset. One small observation of improvement that the hotel could do, is some extra drawers and storage in the rooms so that guests arent living out of their suitcase if they are staying more than one night, would be welcome.

  Lovely friends retreat

  I stayed with friends here early February. An absolutely beautiful location and rooms. The food was incredible. I will being staying here again. The only thing that would of made this stay even more perfect, would be if small dogs could stay too.

  Disappointing

  We stayed in room 113. Our first night was sleepless due to a noise which sounded like rain on the roof. Our complaint was investigated but no cause was found. We were eventually offered a different room for our second night at a moving fee of $120 which seemed ridiculous given that the problem was not our fault. After some work was done on the room, the second night was better until the noise started again at 5.00am. We recorded it and sent it to guest services but had no response from management.

  KATHERINE

  My partner and I arrived at The Ankorage yesterday afternoon 22 February 2021. We were warmly greeted by Katherine at check in, but to our dismay she couldnt find our booking. I gave her my phone to see my booking and guess what...... I had booked accomodation for 22 March 2021. I was terribly distraught, as was my partner Steve. Katherine handled this situation with the utmost empathy. Firstly she offered us a glass of champagne, which was just what we needed and then had a look for available accomodation for that evening. There was a room available, but at double the price we were going to pay. Katherine suggested we take a seat, enjoy our champagne, take our time and have a think about what we should do. Steve and I did just that and we decided to stay the night. What a magnificent place. Our room was devine, loved the Hamptons style. The Ankorage is one of the most elegant places we have stayed at. If it wasnt for Katherine and the way she handled the situation with us, we probably would not have stayed the night. What a great asset you have in her. An absolutely charming, delightful young lady. Please pass this on to Katherine and because of her we will definitely be back to stay at The Ankorage again.
