  Excellent Value Pet Friendly

  We spent a week in Unit 9. January 2019. Anchorage Units, as the advertisement states, is owned and run by a Chinese family . A nice lot and at $1085 for 7 nights, three adults and 2 dogs - peak season - great value for money. A huge package of chocolates on arrival! The units are scrupulously clean and have most of what you need. Comfortable beds! Overall, simple and basic, but bathroom recently renovated. Shower hot and plenty of water. You can have the dogs in the unit which is a plus. Air conditioner worked well during a fairly hot humid week. There is an oven, crockery etc. Somewhere, there is a complaint, on this site, that the toilet door can be peered under or over. Well, if this is a worry, you can simply close the main door to the bathroom? Also, as someone else complains, the unit did not smell, it was quite fresh, and there were no creepy crawlies as someone else has stated. And have stayed in much more pricey dog friendly where there were many more stains on carpets ...actually the carpets were very clean. In all, an excellent choice for a very economical pet friendly holiday. If you want luxury, as a few seemed to on this site, then I have stayed at lovely 5* resorts in Lakes Entrance.. But not dog friendly and three times the price. I recommend Anchorage Units highly...and we also got a huge platter of freshly made dim sum...

  Not bad for a short stay.

  My friend and I stayed hear on sunday 19 May for one night. Rooms clean beds ok. Managers friendly check in and check out easy. We chose this place as we had a dog with us as well. Close to beach and shops.

  Enjoyed a 1 night stay

  Needed last minute overnight accommodation at Lakes Entrance and choose this budget self contained unit. No complaints, had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Mostly quite clean, nice new renovation in the bathroom. The place is oozing potential. The location is great with shops and other highlights of Lakes Entrance very handy. Owners very pleasant and helpful. (Just a thought, curtains in the unit could really do with a wash) Had a pleasant stay.

  Basic, but good

  We stayed here for 2 night (Unit 4) and it was fine. It's not a brand new place but it's not run down either. The unit was clean, functional and had everything we needed for a couple of nights. Bed was comfortable, room was warm, shower was great. No complaints about it at all. There's a small children's playground if you have kids and there's a pool which was covered while we were there. My only issue was some of the glasses/cutlery wasn't that clean despite a 'warning' from the owners that people should clean them (which I found a little odd). Very close to town, within walking distance. Across the road from the supermarket should you need anything. I'd stay there again.

  Never again

  We were due to check out tomorrow but there is no way we could have stayed one more night in that unit, so we packed up and left. My son refused to sleep in the bed after the third night and slept in the car due to the bed bug bites from the single bed. The whole apartment was filthy and had a terrible smell. The furniture and bedding was old, dirty and contributed to the smell. If you do stay here take your own bedding. Shoes or thongs are a must when walking inside the unit, the floors havent seen a (clean) mop in a while. My thongs had black soles by the end of our stay, and I only wore them inside. The cold water was brown and the hot water tap ran continuously in the bathroom. Not sure if the bathroom had been cleaned for a very very long time, as the dust , dirt and dead insects seem to have been there for some time. And the toilet floor and walls were disgustingly dirty. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and even though it is pet friendly I wouldnt even let my dog stay there. Never again.
