  An unexpectedly relaxing stay.

  Its a very beautiful Balinese themed beachfront hotel. I loved our massive room. All we did was stay in the beach and chill. The sand was white and the beach was relatively clear. Awesome breakfast too!

  Anantara Sanya Bay Resort and Spa

  We booked 2 sea view rooms and were checked in by Daisy who welcomed us with a smile. We requested for a high floor and even though the hotel was quite empty with perhaps 20 to 30% occupancy, we were given 3rd floor out of 7 floors which is of no use as these rooms are more pool and tree view than beaxh view and there are too many tree between the hotel and the beach covering the whole view. We were asked to pay extra for the same room on the 6th floor which had a better view, not right, but we still had to go for it for even a half decent view. Though rooms were of decent size with comfortable beds made for a good nights sleep were a huge plus and large bathrooms were welcomed. I was asked for a deposit of RMB5,000 on my credit card which is too steep and I have never made such a deposit in all my stays around the world ever! Weird, yet, I had to block it on my credit card. The breakfast however, was very limited and mainly focused on pork, it was like everything had pork in it, the seafood fried rice too!! It wasn't need but was added anyways. We had to request vivin at the reception to provide us at least 2 option of vegetarian as my mom was vegetarian and were obliged just for the next day with it. The days after that it was all about pork again! Swimming pool was ok but it had no bar so that was a bit of a downer. Beach is connected to the hotel and was quite clean. The staff took care of our benches which were unlocked for us when we wanted and locked as soon as we leave. Restaurant downstairs has a great margarita pizza which was a huge plus for us. Jimmy who served us was brilliant. But this being an Anantara property they did not accept my Discovery membership number for points. I do think they are in the process of letting the Anantara franchise go, hence, the confusion on the internet. KFC and a supermarket are a short walk opposite the hotel which was a plus too. On checkout Amber was quite swift. Overall, a decent stay... I would surely not be coming back but it's not too bad to stay here once to experience the serenity of Dadonghai.

  Just a normal Resort not as outstanding as other Anantara Resort

  I came here with family in December 2019 for a year end trip. It was quite disappointing. We weren't given a villa but an apartment next to the resort which is outside of the resort. Although we can use the facilities in the resort, it makes the entire trip quite inconvenient as we need to keep calling for buggy. The resort is not well kept to begin with. The receptionist is not as attentive as the ones in Phuket or chuangmai. The food served for breakfast is pale in comparison with chiangmai's Anantara. Next come to the room, it's clean, thats for sure however there is a bad stench smell coming from the draining pipes and toilets. I can only attribute it to poor workmanship of the apartment. The view from the apartment is spectacular though. We made complaints to the Anantara management after our trip because Anantara resort should not be such poor quality. During our complaints, we only found out that the reason it's poorly managed because it was sold to another company already and currently they are just honouring existing bookings. This is pretty bad and they should at least take care of Anantara's brand name.

  Doorstep to the beach

  I travelled to Sanya for a long weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. Arriving at the resort after 11pm, the check-in process was a bit slow and the guy checking us in wasn't that friendly. That said, we had a great and comfortable stay. The room was clean and spacious and the hotel staff were generally helpful although they don't speak much English. The WiFi worked well and I must say Asitha was so helpful during the stay as he helped us get a birthday cake and recommended restaurants and bars. The resort pool was nice and there is a private beach access which made the stay even more wonderful. The breakfast was alright as it has western and Chinese cuisine. The resort Spa is beautiful and enjoyed the treatments. The location is perfect for going to the city centre and Sanya Bay. The hotel needs to improve to cater to international travellers as it has potential to offer an exceptional holiday experience. I will return again.

  Best deal in Sanya

  I often come to Luhuitou, which is the rebranded name of previous Anantara hotel chain. I have to admit that my experience is so far outstanding, rooms are huge and clean, breakfast international and with outstanding food quality. The only room of improvement must be the sunbeds on the beach, which are not comfortable at all (need a soft cover). Highly recommend to visit!
