A good hotel overall but with certain necessity of improvements

+ very nice located hotel with a superb view toward a wonderful garden and the sea for all its rooms no matter of their type and size; + very good restaurant despite of its not so vast and pricey menu (food and drinks); + extremely polite personnel which is valid both for the reception and restaurant; + probably the best spa from the Romanian seaside; + large parking located both outdoor and indoor; + responsible management of the precautionary measures against COVID; + large enough rooms; + very good bathroom cosmetics (liquid soap and shower gel); + outdated tv sets; + very good positioning of the A/C inside the rooms which prevents a strong circulation of the air especially around bed area.   - no minibar; - very old and uncomfortable mattress, totally outdated and inappropriate for the class and demands of the hotel; - delimited beach but accessible to every potential visitor who will pay a daily tax and not reserved only to the hotel clients which generates frustrations regarding the persons which you may have around; - beach with a special policy that prevents the access of various peddlers within that area but which unfortunately is not respected at all.

Best hotel to stay at during a Pandemic

I stayed at this hotel in July 2020 and I would like to share my experience regarding my overall stay. First of all, even if the hotel is not on the beach, it is not that far: maybe a 7 minute walk. The view from the room is spectacular (I stayed on 9th floor). The room was nice, furniture a little old, but that didn't bother us. However, the air conditioner was really annoying and full of mold! Really unpleasant for guests with asthma or allergies. However, we were able to buy some tape to get rid of the smell. The air only flows from the inside of the personal room to outside and the reverse, so there is no problem regarding covid-19 safety. It is, however, annoying that you can never stop it. The breakfast food was ok, but honestly i was expecting more from a 4-star hotel. It was almost the same everyday and the dessert wasn't that good. There is no fresh juice, only bottles of Cappy if i remember correctly. The fact that everyone can stay on the beach, no matter if they are guests or not, is a very very big problem that needs to be solved! I would also suggest staying at this hotel on working days. It gets really crowded on weekends. The prices for spa felt really high to me - I could not afford any treatments. The pool was pretty big, but the water was a little too cold. The garden was fantastic, I spent all my afternoons relaxing there. The internet was good enough - it worked just fine on zoom meetings, a little slow on bigger downloads. I would like to congratulate the staff, their attitude was the best and made the stay really safe for everyone. They were also very helpful. Eforie Nord, however, is probably the worst place at the sea side I ever visited. I was harassed for wearing a mask, people belived the virus doesn't exist and they did not obey any safety rules. Such a shame. The beach was also very, very crowded. Another note: the room cleaning is only available on demand, I saw that everyone is complaining about this. We were just fine without any room cleaning for our 6 nights stay. All in all, I recommend staying at this hotel, I will probably return sometime, but avoid the peak of the season and don't get your hopes too high regarding Eforie Nord - it would have been awesome if the hotel was located in another place.

    Pleasant and safe stay

After a bit of indecision, I returned to the hotel this year and my conclusion is that there have been some improvements and that it is a safe place to stay at. To begin with the safety, it was nice to notice that they went the extra mile to stick to the Covid-related security measures: temperature scan, disinfectants, different in/out doors, cleaning service in the room only upon request, no inner pool, limited SPA services. It was also very pleasant to see the restaurant staff stick to the measures, without a fault - plexiglass screens so you couldn't serve your own food during breakfast, everyone wore a mask (properly!) and gloves, tables got disinfected. Overall, inside the hotel premises I felt very safe and protected and just to note for the sake of other potential visitors - this does not extend to Eforie Nord. Very few people wearing masks in crowded places, not even those people selling food, so be mindful of your health when you're out for a walk. Regarding improvements, it was a nice surprise that the safe was not electronic (though it did feel ridiculously tiny) and also that the pool staff was more careful to enforce the rule that if you left you couldn't keep a lounge occupied with a towel for later. I would still love a fully private beach more but it was nice to see that the part of it that was not close to the water was pretty free and allowed social distancing. Overall, the staff seemed more patient and kinder than usual and I have a special shoutout for the support I had during the reservation process. I don't think I ever had a room on the 10th floor before, the view was absolutely stunning. I was not bothered by the noise from the air conditioning but, to my taste, it seemed that I could never get it to stop being too cold. The fruit plate I had in my room upon arrival was also a lovely surprise for someone with a sweet tooth, like myself. Last but not least, the restaurant was incredible. Although it is not my first stay at the hotel, it is my first time taking all my meals there and I cannot compliment their a la carte choices enough. Delicious and incredibly generous portions, and very professional staff.

    Sunny October

I have visited this hotel a few times in the past, last time being ten years ago. Few things changed: a new outdoor area of the spa, a new terrace for the restaurant, rooms updated but the bathrooms need some refurbishments too. The reception area is pretty much the same, so is the restaurant. But the entire complex is very well maintained. Giving the situation and the occupancy grade in the first week of October, the food was excellent. We had half board so the food was buffet style. The whole service, as always, was flawless. And this includes all the staff: restaurant, reception, spa... We were lucky enough to catch some sun and swim, 4-5 people at the pool was the peak. The beach was totally empty. Overall, glad to come back, glad they keep the standards, glad to have a perfect, sunny, 5 days holiday.
