Absolutely fineReally nice room for room only. Only moan is that we had top floor while was a lot of stairs to climb when you've been out all day. Would definitely stay again and would recommend. Bang in the middle of Ambleside and everything around you but very quiet still.

Okay..Great location, room was clean enough. Wardrobe shelf was unusable as dirty. Bathroom shower had good pressure but toilet roll holder and radiator are hanging off and unfortunate drainy smell throughout our stay from bathroom. We were only given one large towel between us and when emailing the urgent email given they did not respond at all. It did the job but dont get your hopes too high.

Great location and comfortable stay but can be noisyWe stayed at Ambleside central for four nights this week. Check in is at the bar next door where staff give you a one hour parking clock so you can load and unload bags near the hotel. After that the car needs to be moved and parking is a ten minute walk from the local football club. Our family room was spacious enough. The beds were moderately comfortable. Our private bathroom, spacious, comfortable but across the passage. A quick run in your underwear hoping to not get caught!! The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. Breakfast was not included however there was a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. On the whole this is wonderful budget accommodation in a very busy town. The only downside is the noise that revellers make leaving the bar between 11 and 1 am which woke us despite the double glazed window.

Appalling stayMy father and his partner spent two nights at Ambleside Central earlier this month. They wanted to share an honest account of their experience as we have complained to the owner and received zero response. Please think twice before booking. My dad was put in a tiny room - there wasn't enough space to open the bathroom door without hitting the bed. As you can see from the pictures, the gap between the bed and wall was dangerously narrow and you could easily hit your leg on the corner of the bed frame. The inside of the fitted wardrobe was filthy. Worst of all, the window looked out into the cellar of the pub next door!Literally the worst view they have ever come across. All night you could hear the sound of the fridges in the cellar. If you are older or disabled, please be aware that the car park is about half a mile away from the hotel and you can't drop your luggage off outside as it's on the high street. My father and his partner brought up these issues with the owner and were basically told the room was as advertised. Obviously, they would not have booked the room if it was advertised as tiny, overlooking a cellar and in need of a clean! I hope the owner can sort out the issues.

No cancellation refunds due to Covid-19.Booked as a Team building exercise with work colleagues for a Walking Adventure. My region was placed in a Local Lock Down Restrictions including Travel due to Coronavirus (Covid-19) I notified the Hotel (directly by telephone then e-mail) and Booking.com immediately on the Friday, (hotel was booked for the Tuesday evening) Booking.com were great, they tried to get me a refund. The hotel would not entertain the request. I am £80.85 out of pocket. The nearby Ambleside Inn allows full refunds for Covid-19 cancellations. I would recommend staying there.
