  One of the best places to stay in Hsinchu

  Business hotel with excellent service nice swimming pool/spa and friendly staff. If you go to HsinChu for business this is the best place to stay. Right in the city center. HsinChu has become a clean town. No dirty sidewalks and nasty streets. It really cleaned up.

  Just walked in to the hotel - was SERIOUSLY thinking of walking right out

  Had requested an early check in. Which was brushed off. To kill time, headed to the lunch buffet. Denied access, stating that they were closing. Told to go to the floor one level up. Saw some tables and sat waiting for service. An employee had no clue why we were there ! Never been treated like this before !

  Enjoyable stay

  It is a nice hotel. Perhaps the wooden furniture in the room could be updated but in general, the room was comfortable, cozy, and super clean. Breakfast is also good. i wish they had real orange juice instead of orange flavor water with too much sugar. But the food is excellent quality!

  Stayed here for 3 weeks as part of my work trip. Glad that they assigned me a room on the high floor which I later find it how important it was as the music from the live band at the atrium is so loud that it can be heard from the rooms at lower level. No complains on service, staff are courteous and always putting up a smile when they see guests. Breakfast: Wide choices which includes some of Taiwanese kind of breakfast. Room: Love it! Big room, clean, good view! Oh, did I forgot to mention the toilet comes with a bidet and seat warmer (++ points!). Laundry service: Standard, clothes are either folded or hung back in my wardrobe. Facilities: Standard Pool and steam-room/sauna facilities are available for guest use. I hope they have a bigger gym though. Location: Located in between Hsinchu Train Station and North Hsinchu Train Station, do note, these are not the highspeed rail stations (HSR), the Hsinchu HSR station is reachable about 25mins by train. Also Big City (biggest shopping mall in Hsinchu) is only about 7-mins walk away. Overall: Enjoyed my stay.

  Not Recommended for Business Traveler

  I stayed here for just one night but had an awful experience. I had a very important meeting in Hsinchu and would like to stay at a comfortable 5-star hotel the day before. Since Ambassador Hotel Hsinchu is a renowned 5-star hotel, I chose to stay there. That was the worst decision I have ever made in my life. I booked a room with breakfast earlier but switched to the booking without breakfast when I checked in very late in the evening. The employee Katie said no problem and would assist me to change the room rate without breakfast. I also told Katie that I was on a business trip and a receipt was needed. I gave her my tax ID number and asked her to have the receipt ready when I checked out. However, as I checked out the next morning, the other employee Pony said I had to pay a higher rate and insisted that nothing was noted on the computer. I tried to explain to Pony that his colleague Katie helped me with the booking last night and kindly asked Pony to confirm with Katie with the situation. Pony said that it was not necessary, and he did not want to disturb Katie while she was off duty. Pony told me that he had no access to approve my request for paying the rate without breakfast. Thus, I asked to talk to the Manager. Then Pony called to the manager and talked to the manager on the phone for quite a long time. After Pony hanged out the phone, he said that manager would come here to assist me. What I could not understand was that why the manager could not give the order over the phone and had to come to the counter personally to handle this easy and small case. During the whole conversation, I tried to tell Pony that I was in hurry and please accelerated the process. Pony kept saying he was sorry and there was nothing he could do. The manager Aaron Siao finally appeared at the counter after 30 minutes. Ironically, the computer was SHUT DOWN at the same time! I was irritated, and I did not know what to say. It took me 30 minutes to check out and it came to a ridiculous ending. I got to leave because I would be late for the important meeting if I stayed at the hotel for one more second. Thus, I left the hotel without getting my receipt and not knowing how much I was charged for the stay. The reason I chose this 5-star hotel because I wished I could have a better service and good rest before my big day. Thank to Katie, Pony, manager Aaron Siao, I was late for the meeting. Never choose this hotel if you are on a business trip!
