  Excellence to the maximum

  Matt and Robin are such an excellent host. They greet us in the beginning of our trip and see to it that everything that we need are well taken care off. We are in the middle of Moyo jungle when it began to rain, and to our surprise within minutes Matt arrived with his mountain bike and stocks of umbrella. Food are always in abundant free flow, full hearted service at its best. You need a towel, forgot a sunblock, want to have honeymoon dinner at the beach, they will make it happen. A++

  Paradise

  Absolute paradise! Moyo island & Amanwana were the best part of our month long holiday in Indonesia. The snorkeling was unbelievable and there were so many other things to see & do on such a small island as well as just relax. The accommodation was luxurious & rustic. Can't beat waking up to an ocean view and falling asleep to the sound of waves. We felt so welcome by everyone & were even treated to a wine tasting and dinner with Robyn & Matt (general managers). They also created a personal menu for our dietary needs & it was some of the best food we had in Indonesia. We don't know if we can stay in any other place other than an Aman now!   Fabulous honeymoon, Aman style (Part 3)

  Amanwana Aman had arranged our transfer between our hotels and the car and plane journey. We arrived at Amanwana late morning and looked forward to spending our 5 days/nights on this Robinson Crusoe luxury island. Unfortunately not a single piece of luggage turned up on the plane, for each and every passenger, and it would appear that it was because the plane was full and the hotel were aware of this ahead of take-off. I think that had we have been told, the guests with who we travelled with couldve grabbed some bathing stuff and any medication needed. I was wearing a pair of trousers and a shirt and had packed my asthma pump. We finally got our bags around 7.30pm, which really and truly wasted the first day, as we werent dressed for this lovely place, so spent about 3 hours at the bar, and the following 4 hours in the room. Im not sure the management dealt with it correctly as we werent properly informed, front of house was quite sharp with her response, and finally when I asked for the manager, he couldnt be found and the assistant manager (very helpful and apologetic) finally explained the situation. But by this time it was dark and I was a annoyed. Not the first day that Aman promise at their hotels. Its so peaceful here, the cheeky monkeys are a delight and Selma the resident deer comes and chats to you while youre sat down to eat! The chef is brilliant.he made us shashimi when it wasnt on the menu, as a snack. The freshest of fish, amazing. But disappointingly, the long stretch of beach doesnt have any beds and is quite stoney, so there is a small decking area with 12 beds on. The accommodation comprises of 20 tents which are all amazing, we were in the beach facing which I would recommend, but the jungle ones are only steps away. The trip to the local waterfall is a must. Its literally all yours, sooo private, but with 2 hotel staff to assist your every need. So in conclusion, Amanwana is very special, we loved it, the pace of life slows to a chill, you read, eat, lounge, swim, admire the beauty of where you are. But the communication regarding the baggage should be a simple exercise and some work on the beach would elevate it to somewhere unique and special.

  Fabulous place - different to many Amans because it's the original

  It's hard to review Aman resorts as they are all five star. This one is definitely "excellent" but to put it up against, say, the Amandira boat is a tough call. Still...you can't go wrong. Amanwana is the original Aman and apparently the most beloved of the original founder. It is simpler, wilder, and more isolated than most Amans. "Best property on Moyo Island?" You mean...only property! Expect simple but beautifully appointed luxury tents set along a deserted beach...miniature deer walking up to your front door...mischievous (really mischievous!) monkeys trying to steal everything...and a whole lot of nothing to do but read books, swim, snorkel and grab mostly delicious meals in the open air restaurant. Moyo is not a destination in itself - it's best as a stop on your Indonesian itinerary (we did it between Amandira and Amanjiwo). A truly charming place but not the uber-luxury of most Amans...you need to be ready for this, and you will love the peacefulness.

  Bucket List Resort!

  We enjoyed every minute of our stay. First and foremost the service! The best ever, in a league of their own! The activities great, and unique. The food was high quality and delicious for all the meals. We did the group trekking one morning and a private snorkling arranged by Amanwana another morning. Both super. I'd highly recommend Amanwana for anyone who wants a very special and Luxurious Vacation. Thank you mbak Susan & Amanwana Team!
