Beautiful Property with World Class Views

Amangani is an absolutely stunning property with breathtaking views! We stayed 3 nights at the end of September and it took us 2 hours after check-in time to get our room. I was expecting a smoother check-in process from a high-end hotel with only 40 rooms on property. They did provide us with complimentary beverages while we waited, but frankly, we were exhausted from previous days up north in Yellowstone. The service from their staff was excellent. Our room service breakfast each morning was expertly prepared and always warm. Our dinner on the property was okay. One of the most egregious charges we received on our final bill was for chips, salsa, & guacamole at the pool (they have no pool menu were you can see the pricing ahead of time). They charged us $50 ($10 chips, $14 mediore salsa, $14 guacamole, and a $10 service fee). I fully understand resort food is often pricey, and expected that of this hotel, but to me this is just simply unacceptable.

Not Aman-standard (and not for COVID-cautious guests)

We stayed for a few nights. Let me break it out below between COVID-related items and general items, but in short: If you have been to an Aman before, youll wonder how this can be of the same brand. If you have not been to an Aman before, this one will give you the wrong impression of the Aman brand (as I know it from visiting others). First off, COVID-related: If youre looking for a spot to vacation in a safe environment, this is not it. During just a few days, we had a couple and a full family with 3-4 teenagers running around the place without any regard for safety. No face masks, no distancing, no nothing. Apparently, they all were exempt. So instead of the Aman owning up to it and recommending they stay somewhere else, they seem to be happy to take any business and instead make every other guest who follows the rules feel very, very uncomfortable and unsafe. Really damages the brand. Staff was supposed to write down names of guests who brought it up, but nothing did happen. Related to cleanliness, our kid found a champagne cork under the nightstand after our second night, which indicates: The room had never been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival nor during the first couple of days during our stay. Makes you wonder what else hasnt been cleaned. The staff at the desk didnt know what to say so we asked a couple of times to speak to the manager about the mask rules and the cork we found usually, he was roaming around but we havent heard from him at all during our stay and we had three more nights left after the trash had been found. Outside of cleanliness and COVID-safety: Housekeepers are bad. No one greets you, very grumpy and flat-out annoyed when you request anything or just have a question. Had to ask six times until we finally got a kids robe. Only took 27 hours. One morning we were out for about 3 hours, returned, and the room still hadnt been made up. Again, very much something you wouldnt expect from an Aman. They provide an air humidifier, didnt look like it had been cleaned upon our arrival, we had it run 24/7 given the dry air: No one ever had the idea to fill it with water once. At turndown, they leave empty bottles on the tables, dirty dishes, and we were clearly 3 people, but only got two bottles of water, every single time. Two times we had to call because the mini-bar (which is included), hadnt been restocked with water (and they had two opportunities during the day to do so) Food is fantastic, restaurant staff is hit or miss a couple are great, the rest: Doesnt seem they want to be there. Most of the front desk staff, door staff, the guys who help out with the fire places or snow shoveling couldnt have been any nicer. Rooms are dated. The view is magnificent. I could go on but that are the main highlights. Very disappointing since many items are small things that any standard 5-star hotel has down. Slacking here leaves a bad taste for the money you pay and when you expect Aman-level service. The mask and cleanliness situation is not excusable. Even less so is the fact that we let the staff know how unsafe we felt given people didnt wear masks and didnt care about others who did, that we found a champagne cork from other people using the room before us, and that we asked to speak to the manager twice and simply nothing happened. No follow up. Thats not how I know the Aman brand and I cant recommend a stay at the Amangani.

Amazing luxury resort in Jackson hole

This hotel was amazing. Everything was wonderful. The all Mountain View room was spacious and well appointed with central heating, a fireplace and a soaking tub with view of mountains, and a balcony patio, robes, slippers, separate shower with view of mountains, dyson humidifier, dyson blow dryer and dyson space heater. The housekeeping staff filled the complementary snacks and beverages and the bath salts and bubble bath daily. The staff is so eager to make the stay perfect! The restaurants were fantastic with world-class cuisine. The chef himself may be the best ever and was so friendly and welcoming. The outdoor hot tub, fully stocked gym and steam rooms and full service spa make the stay even more amazing. We have stayed all over the country and in many parts of the world and this luxury spot and attentiveness were the very best! We will be staying at other Aman Brand hotels around the world after our experience in Jackson hole. Every single moment from making the reservation, to pulling up to the valet, to checking into the room, to making reservations for around town, to dining there, all through checking out was a wonderful experience in every way. I am super impressed with the staff. The location is stunning. Stay here for a great experience in the mountains of Wyoming!

    Unbelievable views! Unreal location

You don't even have to splurge on the Grand Teton Suite to get spectacular views. The "poor people's" rooms that open up to the back away from the Tetons still have an eye popping view of the valley. Property located high on a butte giving one of the best infinity pool views ever. My string of bad luck with Aman properties hosting weddings when I'm there continued, causing staff to be diverted to the event. The experience here further solidified the finding that Aman service outside of Asia does not match the legendary status the brand has become known for. Granted, no one did anything bad or incompetent, but when paying these prices you'd expect to experience the mythic level of service that has been written about them. The design is impeccable in that undeniable Aman style -- modern but understated and tasteful, a surprising use of a lot of blacks and dark wood. It matches the setting beautifully. Dining is not Aman's star quality and this was the case here too, perfectly adequate, tasty dinner but nothing worth making a side trip for. The real star of the show here is the one in a million location. Go for that view alone.
