  Sentirte en un sitio hace 60 años

  El que pueda permitirse alojarse en un hotel Aman ya sabe lo que es: servicio, limpieza, atención cien por cien, lujo sin estridencias, detalles.... El Amangalla está situado dentro de la fortaleza de Galle en un edificio del siglo XVII totalmente reformado, te siente como en la película Indochina: ventiladores, piano, mobiliario colonial...Las habitaciones espaciosas, no les falta de nada, limpieza tres veces al día con cambio de toallas, detalles para los niños... Amangalla sólo tiene una pega: el precio, es carísimo pero si puedes permitírtelo... jamás lo olvidarás

  Exelente opcion

  El lugar es precioso, muy adecuado para el lugar colonial. La decoración es preciosa, muy diferente a otros hoteles. El cuarto es muy espacioso, muy cómodo, lo único malo es que no sale el agua muy caliente, y la regadera no tiene puerta y entra frio. El servicio es muy bueno, el portero que nos atendió a cada cuarto es excelente. El desayuno y cena muy bueno. En el hotel te recomiendan muy buenos restaurantes en el pueblo. Buena experiencia y muy agradable estancia.

  DE LA PRESTIGIOSA CADENA AMAN SOLO TIENE EL NOMBRE!

  Recepcion es mas que lamentable, apenas te miran a la cara y parece que molestes, a mi me dejaron con la palabra en la boca cuando otro huesped llego para dejar las llaves y hacer una consulta cuando me estaban atendiendo... y no era nada urgente. El servicio de restaurante muy poco profesional, para servir un desayuno mas de una hora...atienden mejor a la gente que viene de fuera del hotel a cenar. no hay ningun coche del hotel solo disponen de bicicletas...la piscina sucia y las hamacas con las toallas sucias por los pajaros y las hojas de los arboles.. no te las cambian si no las pides.. lo ven normal!! Falta personal y el que hay es muy malo. En positivo, las habitaciones estan muy bien decoradas y renovadas, son confortables y muy limpias. el butler muy profesional y valido, suerte de el que nos preparo las excursiones! El hotel esta muy bien situado dentro del fuerte de Galle. Deberian vender esta propiedad desprestigia a la cadena Aman de la que somos clientes asiduos desde hace años. Veníamos de estar una semana en el otro Aman de Sri Lanka Amanwella.

  Best in Galle indeed!!!

  We visited Sri Lanka a few months back and ended up at Amangalla for the last three nights of the tour! We wanted to end the trip on a High note and our travel consultant at the time suggested this and boy were we pleased! The Ambiance , the service , the food and the history of the hotel itself was just breathtaking! Being a History buff, my husband loved everything about the place! We stayed at one of the suites and it was just magnificent. The hotel staff suggested so many activities during our days at Amangalla, however since we had already booked most of our tours for our stay with our Local Travel agent (Sri Lanka In Syle), we were unable to try those offered by the hotel! But nevertheless appreciated the efforts in giving us suggestions. My personal favorite was the whole ambiance at night at Amangalla! And ofcause the Spa! Just amazing! We were skeptical travelling given what happened last April in Sri Lanka, We were even going to cancel our trip but decided to push through in the end! And we are so glad that we went ahead with our plan! Once we were in Sri Lanka, the hospitality we got really put us at ease! It has really taken awhile for me to put this review up but it is well deserved!

  Beautiful Historic Colonial Mansion turned into Boutique Hotel

  This Aman property had a tremendous amount of historical charm. The service was very good . the room which was upgraded was a bit small and sparse, but had incredible wood floors and a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool area. The staff was attentive and always willing to assist anyway they could and the GM was very professional. The breakfasts and lunch were very nice on the open lobby level. We did opt for thei Sri Lankan special dinner which had a dozen or more specialities of which most I could not eat, which was disappointing. Ther was no gym nor air conditioning in the common areas and lobby restaurant which was uncomfortable even in February. There was no TV , but the hotel did have WiFi. WE did want to use the spa facilities but they were booked so did not have the opportunity to see/ review. The butler for our room was exceptional and took us on a walking tour or the historic fort area for 1 1/2 hours. We liked this hotel more than the Amanwella but again found it wanting with regards to other Five Star Deluxe Hotels like the Four Seasons hotels which we have stayed at on all 5 contingents.
