Not bad!!This little Hotel exceeded our expectations. It is old-fashioned, but very clean and functional. There's a parking lot, free of charge (which, in small towns in Europe, is a real privilege), cable TV with many foreign channels and mini-bar. The staff is small, but very friendly and helpful. And my favorite: the multigrain croissant!! Very light and healthy at the same time! Being a huge fan of german breads, I was delighted with yet another surprise in this area! (the whole breakfast buffet is above average, we weren't expecting to find something like that in a small Hotel in a small town that has no touristic appeal)

Hotel in MontabaurIf you need to stay in Montabaur you can choose here. It is an old building. Economic and clean. Breakfast can be better you have little options for breakfast. It is at the city center. I stay 3 times here.

Great experienceWe had an overnight stay at this lovely hotel and we enjoyed it so much! Stylish, clean bedroom, super comfortable bed, beautiful view, great bathroom. Quiet (however it was Saturday night) and lovely location with free parking which is a huge bonus. The lady at the reception was brilliant, friendly, helpful and welcomed us with a huge smile and we met another lady in the morning we left who was also so nice and helpful. However the hotel is 3 star they definitely deserve 5 star for their buffet breakfast. I am a difficult person about the food as does not eat proper bread and anything which has sugar but they offered different kind of special bread, rolls, sweeteners, lots of fruit, seeds and many other healthy options to have a superb, filling breakfast in a relaxing atmosphere. Thank you very very much!!! Greetings from Scotland

Nice stay in MontabaurThis is a very nice small hotel. It is very close to the towncentre and the pedestrian area. The room was very good and done to a good standard. The Breakfast Buffet was excellent and the service good. The hotel reception had limited opening whilst we were there and when we arrived the hotel was closed and we couldn't even leave our bags because there was no staff on duty and the dors were locked.Whether this was just a seasonal thing I'm not sure. You will need to plan your arrival to coincide with the reception opening.Apart from this small blip everything is fine. There are a few restaurants in town and two ice cream parlours. If arriving by train the station is about 1 mile out of town. There is a service bus and taxis but you can walk.We did day trips to Limburg and Wielburg in the Lahn valley. There are buses and a branch line to Limburg which goes through the forest and is a pretty ride,Limburg has a very nice old town with half timbered buliding and a nice cathedral.Montabaur makes a good base for touring the area and is within reasonable distance of Koblenz and the Rhine and Moselle valleys.
