Fabulous Small hotel on the waterHotel Am Leuchtturm is a great hotel overlooking the water in Rostock. Nice rooms, helpful staff and close to the Alter Strom and it's great eateries. The hotel is being renovated at the moment, so it will only get better.

Relaxing cum business hotelA charming hotel next to the beach and the lighthouse, with 3 to 4-star comfort and 1st class friendliness and service of the staff. Rooms are spacy, some with huge balconies overlooking the sea or the lighthouse, furniture and bathrooms are ok, breakfast offers a good choice. A very nice place to be, even if you're in Warnemünde for business. Prices are ok. The Eastern Baltic Sea is (sometimes unreasonably) expensive, anyway. Off-season at 134,-- / night for 2 is exaggerated, but the location is superb and the building is beautiful. And after all: the WiFi is free of charge and available (almost) everywhere in the hotel, except in the breakfast room (which is a pity). I'll sure be back here.

Very central hotel with friendly staffLooks a little functional at first and rooms do seem a bit businessy but staff are very welcoming, location is ideal for the main tourist area, beach and all the bars and the breakfast buffet, at 12.50, was very sumptuous and varied. There is even an orange juice squeezer. My room was in the eaves, had a single bed, which I haven't had in ages, and a bed that you could adjust, which seemed like a bit of gimmick. Mattress was a bit soft but I've known worse. Minibar prices were fair, room had a fan and a bog standard German hotel bathroom. No hotel bar and the outsourced but adjoining bistro closes rather early (18.00), which was a surprise. I would definitely return.

Lovely room but bad information about constructions around hotelWe stayd one night at the Hotel Am Leuchtturm in July. We were first about to book via booking.com but noticed that the price was lower at the hotel website. When we arrives here, by car, we noticed that about all of the streets to the hotel were closed because of constructions. Apparently they had written about it on their own website (though shortly and no information when you actually went to book a room) and there was nothing about it on booking.com. On the internet it said that the hotel has parking but it turned out to be at least half a kilometer from the hotel and we had to ask for a map there, they didnt offer one, just pointed the direction. The room itself was really lovely, comfortable bed, nice view to the lighthouse. Unfortunately during our stay there was also a street festival (Warnemünder Woche) and they played live music just outside the hotel until 10pm. I understand that its not the hotel obligation to infor about that but it would have been nice since the room for just one night cost about 180 and the music was really loud and you could hear it inside. Also the photos of the hotel on the internet are a little missleading when it comes to the outside of the hotel. There are houses really close by and everything, not just beach as the photos let you believe.

Great location, quiet, clean & near train station - read if going on cruiseThe Hotel Am Leuchtturm is a quiet and clean hotel in a great location. I was going on a cruise out of the port and trying to find a place where I could stay and walk to the port. For those cruising with older adventurers, there is no hotel I could find in which you can walk to the port with your luggage. While younger members may be able to, it is important to note that the streets have cobbles so there is no smooth pull for your suitcase. My advice is to take a cab. Now for the hotel - loved it. My room was a little quirky but it made it memorable. It was on the top floor and had a gabled roof. Therefore, we had a slanted ceiling and small windows but we did have a sky light. The windows open and the views a great. I was in 309 and the only issue was that you couldn't really stand in the shower. Though I say the showers in the other rooms and they were big cylindrical showers, ours was great if you wanted to enjoy a bath (I've included photos). The hotel was responsive to e-mails and some of the staff speak English. There is a breakfast buffet on the first floor that is good. The nice thing about this location is that there are many great restaurants in the area and all within easy walking distance. I was debating between this hotel and the Hotel Neptune. After seeing this location, I am happy with my choice. It is a smaller hotel. It has an elevator to take up your luggage. Clear room, nice staff, unique decor. Great view of the beach. Lots of great views of kiting as this area tends to be windy. By the way! The beds are adjustable. You can raise the top or the bottom or both using a bed remote. Very relaxing!
