  Perfect self-catering apartment, unforgettable views

  Perfect, spaceous, brand new self-catering apartment in a chalet, in a dream-like location on a stretch of mountains above Lugano. We got a large, fully stocked apartment, including dishes, cleaning materials - everything for a self-catered vacation. Bright, cozy and sparkling clean, with wooden furniture, crisp checkered linens, a huge balcony, and endless views of the fields, pastures, and the Dolomites. The hotel is among several properties connected to Sporthotel Spögler. As such, guests at the apartments can use the hotels pool and facilities; check-in and checkout are also done thru the hotel, a few minutes away by car. As a self-catered apartment, this was a great value. The only thing we wished the apartment had is coffee for the morning, which we forgot to bring (and didnt realize it could be ordered ahead of time). We had a slight adventure trying to find the hotel using the address provided by the 3rd party booking site. GPS could not locate it, so we ended up calling the number on the reservation (Sporthotel Spögler) to get driving instructions. Luckily, the lady spoke English; otherwise we might not have found it.

  Incomparable view (when there is...), comfortable apartment, good value for money,

  This property offers fully furnished apartments, for very short periods also (but in this case an extra charge is provided). It's then very convenient for families or small groups. We spent here three nights in mid-low season (late October): the bill was about 250 Euros. We were four, so we paid a little more than twenty Euros per person per night (but we could be up to six, because the apartment had that capacity). The apartment is not very easy to find. It's anyway on the road coming from Collalbo / Klobenstein to Longomoso / Lengmoos and Longostagno / Lengstein, about two kilometers after Longomoso . The apartment is located on the edge of the Renon / Ritten plateau, with a wonderful view towards Mt. Sciliar / Schlern and other Dolomites peaks. So an exciting scene; which, however, we could enjoy only the first day: after there was mist (but this is not the responsibility of the hotel!) . The apartment, all wooden, was picturesque: four of the six beds were on a gallery. The shower was very efficient; the kitchen was a bit less, being equipped exclusively with hotplates.. The property was overall an excellent base for our hiking, as well for our excursions by cable car or on the picturesque plateau train. We had very busy days, so that we have not taken advantage of the services (sauna, swimming pool) of the nearby Hotel Spögler, in which the residence is connected, and that were included in the price. We keep a wonderful memory of these days .

  Money well spent

  In general this was a great place to stay. We were in Ritten for an Ice Hockey tournament and these apartments were clean, cosy and good value. The coffee shop downstairs were exceptionally friendly, helpful and provided us with very tasty, good value breakfasts. The views were amazing from the balcony and I would love to return in summer. Only negative really is that the kitchen lacked a kettle and washing up cloth/liquid and if travelling with children be aware that the upstsirs is open plan sleeping.
