  Trip to Poland

  This hotel was booked by a travel company for me whilst visiting a nearby Prisoner of War camp Stalag 8A. The hotel is located on the corner of a square and took me four laps of the area to find in the hire car. The access is on a side street which had road works operating on it at the time. The receptionist was very helpful by looking after luggage whilst he gave directions to a nearby car park where they have a car pass for. The car park is multi-storey and used by the public. Be aware that access to this car park means having to handle local traffic and trams. This was a new experience for me. The car was safe and it cost me 6 euros payable to the hotel on departure. The reception was a throw back in time with some old pieces of furniture but was very clean and tidy. The bedroom was accessed via the lift. It had a door entering the hallway, immediately in front was the bathroom and to the left was a bedroom. This room housed one double bed, bedside cabinet, large ward-robe, writing desk, tv, mini-bar and easy chair. The small window gave a view of the square which was grassed and had fountains. A church bell chimed every quarter hour but not in the night. The room and bathroom were very clean and tidy. There was no bar or restaurant for evening meals but the receptionist directed to a nearby bar. Breakfast had plenty of continental selections, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. It was all good quality and had a pleasant location in restaurant overlooking the square.

  Central Hotel

  Small modernised hotel and restaurant. Our room had recently been renovated, so very clean and spacious. One small lift, but did not seem to be a problem. Hotel in the centre, near the market square. Restaurant only served breakfast while we were there, but this was very good, especially the cold cuts etc. No noise from the square at night. Located next to The Grand Budapest Hotel site of film fame!

  A small and interesting hotel

  This is a fairly small hotel in an old, renovated building near the historic part of Gorlitz. My single room was an attic bedroom. It was quite small but very comfortable and well equipped. The wooden floor creaked noisily when walked on and I could hear the person in the next room had a similar creaky floor! This was the only negative feature. I liked this hotel as it was very different from the more usual large, modern hotel.The breakfast was excellent and the staff pleasant and helpful.

  Family stay in Gorlitz

  Stayed one night with wife and kid. Room was spacious and warm, nicely decorated and had a 32" LCD screen with cable channels (most of them in german, one in french, one in english). They provided an extra bed for my kid (3yr old) at no cost. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had great variety of options and coffee was very good. Even though the hotel is located in city center, was very silent at night.

  Nice historic building in excellent location with superb breakfast

  Very nice building with excellent location in the historic city center with easy access to all attractions by foot. We had a Comfort Double Room which was spacey and well equipped. Breakfast is a real treat in a nice atmosphere and a service lady being so kind. Parking in a nearby parking house is convenient.
