  Very personal service.

  Very well located in town. Easy access to city center & train station. Kristijan is just simply the best. He took care everything from reservation to departure. Very personal service indeed. We arrive almost at the middle of the night cause the train delayed, and he was standing in the apron with big smile in chilly evening! Room is nice & clean. Breakfast is just adequate, not a fancy. But his service made everything perfect. We couldn't get into the internet, but then he lent us his laptop for us. My kid also like him, and always compare other staff hotel with him after we visited Langenfeld. Thanks, Kristijan :)

  A good place to stay.

  I was slightly concerned when arriving to see reception shut and a note saying go to the bar next door, but needn't have been. The rooms are a good size, the only down side is no aircon and the street can be a bit noisy if the windows are open, the room is exceptionally clean and the breakfast typical of continental hotels, with eggs cooked to order if required. The bar next door is very friendly with good food and beers at very reasonable prices. I'd recommend this hotel if visiting Langenfeld.

  Avoid Big Cities

  Smack between Cologne and Duesseldorf lies Langenfeld, just an half hour "S-Bahn" ride away from those two major cities. We enjoy staying here as it has a nice shopping street, good restaurants, most likely something going on weekends, and we can hop on the train and go to Cologne for the day but don't have to stay in the tourist packed place. We had a pleasant three days stay at the "Hotel Am Berliner Platz" right at the intersection of Hauptstrasse and Koelner Strasse. The beds were comfortable so we slept well - which is the most important thing after cleaniness for us. The breakfast buffet upstairs was good; the staff at the tiny reception very friendly and extremely helpful. Parking seems a bit difficult to find (it's actually a secure garage under the hotel). The adjacent restaurant is well worth a try for authentic regional meals.

  Surpassed service expectation

  Stayed 4 nights on business, utilized room and breakfast only Room- good beds but pillow a bit soft, upon request, was given additional pillow and blanket :), included shampoo/body wash, and also hairdryer. Did not use the TV. No toothbrush/comb etc, so remember to bring your own. Parking- parking is limited at hotel area but could park on roadside for free. It was sometimes difficult to get a parking near to hotel. It was pretty cold so would have appreciated more parking lots (in the basement garage?) Wifi- easy to get on and is free. Sometimes a bit slow if streaming videos Breakfast- limited choices but they do prepare freshly brewed coffee and tea (unfortunately there was no English breakfast when I was there, so bring your own :). They also have choice of eggs. Location- many restaurants nearby as well as supermarket opposite Overall the real difference in this hotel is the owner who is a really service orientated nice guy who speaks good English! Area to improve would be the breakfast and also to teach the rest of staff to be similarly arrive orientated!! I will return.

  SIxteen of us arrived for Carnival in February. We have been before, but stayed in Monheim. We were greeted by the owner, Christian who made us feel very welcome. we were very pleased by the size and cleanliness of the rooms and we were all very comfortable. breakfast is a continental breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Everything was fresh and tasty. Christian is a hands on boss who served us and ensured we had everything we needed. Tea and coffe refills were continuous. The attached bar serves great food. We had a wonderful time and have already booked for next year
