  An enjoyable stay

  The location of the hotel was perfect for me being virtually within sight of the station and just a short walk into the very pleasant town of Alton. The staff were welcoming and pleasant at all times from inital arrival to departure. I had a single room which was of a good size and very comfortable and was fortunately very quiet. The bedroom and bathroom were in perfet condition and really well looked after. It was the sort of place that you immediately feel very relaxed in. It is the sort of hotel that you look forward to returning to as I certainly will.

  Lovely, clean hotel - breakfast poor

  This would have been a 5 star review however the included breakfast was poor. It was very greasy and the toast/croissants were cold, server was not rude but not pleasant either and wore her face mask around her chin - this may not bother some people but annoyed me. Despite this the receptionist was extremely helpful and lovely. There was a slight mishap with rooms when we first arrived (which is fine, it happens) and the receptionist did everything she could until we were 100% happy. The hotel rooms are lovely and ours was very spacious and well decorated. The only slight thing is the rooms vary a lot in size so you may find your paying the same price as someone with a huge room when yours is small. Overall the hotel was nice they just need to work on their breakfast provision.

  Great rooms!

  We stayed for a night with some friends and we were so gutted we couldn't have stayed longer! The rooms are great! Very large and nicely decorated they were also clean with very large bathrooms! The toiletries available also smelt divine! The only thing stopping me from the 5* review was breakfast the next morning. The bacon wasn't cooked how I asked and the egg was dripping in oil. Toast was also cold. The lady serving was very unanimated and didn't really talk! Such a shame as we really enjoyed our stay!

  Great service

  Stayed for 1 night with our dog we were given a ground floor room with French door access to rear car park and garden lovely room with walk in shower, tv,kettle tea &coffee. Check in was very quick and efficient we only used the hotel to sleep over night so didnt use other facilities or have breakfast, it was our second time of staying over at Alton house and will definitely use again, thanks again for a very comfortable stay Tim

  With my Dog

  I hadnt planned this trip but my dog had to attend the vet hospital a mile away. The level of service and amazing treatment I was given at this hotel made me cry! Was extremely emotional due to my pet being in the hospital but the team here even gave me later check out free of charge the next day whilst I waited! The restaurant is big and airway with great comfy sofas and chairs! The rooms had everything all shampoo and body wash plus tea/coffee facilities! Huge car park but I walked to high steet to buy essentials for my unexpected stay. This is also on the door step of the train station though so Id say a true rare find! Thank you so much to the team! My baby woke up fine from his operation and you all made me feel so much better!!
