  Ein leuchtender Stern

  The small, familiy-style hotel "Alte Reichsbank" is located close to the old city wall of Schweinfurt old-city. Not too much of the old city is left, but the flair of the city still exists. The rooms are well fitted. The bathrooms are all new. The room size may vary. I stood there several times. After a warm welcome, the hotel team offers you a welcome drink and offers you information about the city and the activities possible in town.

  very nice!

  Stayed in a single room over the week-end to meet family in town. The room was pleasant and modern, the bathroom very spacious with lots of toiletries, all very clean and nice. Complimentary wifi was perfect, the staff super friendly and very helpful. Their kitchen is great and it's most wonderful to sit outside on the big terrace. Would definitely recommend!

  Great hotel for business

  I stayed here for three nights while visiting Schweinfurt on business. There are many hotels in the area by my colleagues always insist Alte Reichbank is the best! I was pleasantly surprised when I was given a suite on the first floor. It had a foyer, large bathroom, living room, and bedroom area. More than enough space for one person! All rooms were maintained very nicely and the bathroom was modern. The WiFi worked great, but I do not like have you have to register for an account to use it. Parking is available on the street out front (I believe it is free after 6 p.m. until sometime the next morning) or you can park on the side of the building for 3 Euro per day. It's a five minute walk to the marketplace where there is shopping and lots of restaurants. Just head left when you leave the hotel steps. The hotel will give you a free "welcome drink" each evening, and I tried the local beer, Zwickel. Breakfast was very standard European with lots of rolls, cheeses, meats, yogurt, and some fruit. They did also have scrambled eggs and bacon for those craving something American. I did not dine at the restaurant for dinner, but I will note the place used to be a bank and you can eat in the vault, which could make for a fun experience for those from out of town. I enjoyed my stay and will try to stay here on my future trips to Schweinfurt.

  Too much credit given to this "bank"

  The Alte Reichsbank seems to have its good sides: I experienced friendly staff, good dinner and a breakfast that was sufficient for me (but perhaps with a somewhat slim assortment). Based on other reviews and my own experience, there seem to be different types of rooms. I got an apartment-style room in another building than the old bank itself and I do not think this was a winning situation for me. The building had normal tenants and also apparently a paediatrician's office and some 3-4 "hotel rooms". The room itself was well aged with e.g. stickers on the bathroom door (covering dents?). It needs to be said however that the bed was comfortable and the internet (via ethernet) worked well. In the end, I usually stay at other hotels in Schweinfurt and I think I will keep doing so, especially considering this one has no financial benefits at all in comparison to their competitors.

  Small nice hotel in the old house of bank.

  This is an attempt to renovate old bank building to hotel. Small, clear and nice. The funny thing is: old safety deposit room is transformed to dinning room. Looks great, incl. special bank's door. Rooms are small and clean. The only problem-there is no condition inside. Breakfast is OK.
