  Another great trip

  Having stayed before I was lucky enough to know what to expect and as I thought, everything was just as good as our previous visit, the rooms , although a little dated, are there to sleep in , they are nice an cozy with plenty of warmth, the bar and restaurant have a great atmosphere and although there is not a massive selection at breakfast (they had run out of yogurt , but I can live with that) it suited my group of 6, 5 of which were hungry teenagers, all in all the location and value for money would be very difficult to beat , well done Alpine Retreat and thanks for a great Ski break , heres hoping we can get there again next year

  We really enjoyed our stay!

  Centrally located and lovely owner! Basic accommodation but perfect if travelling in groups. The bar was pumping and the ski hire was excellent value. We'll definitely be back soon! :) Thanks again!!!

  PERFECT LOCATION ON THE MOUNTAIN

  The location is a very short walk from the town centre and also has a shuttle stop out of the front [perfect when you are carrying ski's/snowbards]. Also very close to Lydia's Lift. Alpine Retreat Mt Buller provided perfect accommodation for our family of four. We had upgraded to the balcony room [shared balcony servicing three rooms] which paid for itself with a fantastic view of the Bourke Street ski run and surrounding mountains and when the fireworks show lit up the sky on the Friday night. The room was clean and comfortable. The double metal frame bunk beds were a bit noisy/squeaky when the kids moved around at night. In floor heating provided more than adequate heat [which I loved]. As noted on the website, noise from the bar below the balcony can be heard at night, however, we were all exhausted from spending the days on the mountain and quickly feel asleep regardless. While the building is quite old, it is clean and well maintained. The kids loved spending time in the games room [fourth floor] of an evening while my husband and I enjoyed a few quiet drinks in the Off-Piste bar [ground floor] - the CCTV of the games allowed us to monitor the kids while we were downstairs. The room had a bar fridge, coffee/tea making facilities and linen provided - note: no face flannel/washers available. There is a communal microwave and an abundance of coffe/tea/sugar supplies available at all times. Breakfast was included - a simple help yourself set up offering cereals, fresh fruit, bread [toaster available for use], condiments, milk, water & juices. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very laid back establishment which suited us perfectly. Don't stay here if you are wanting fancy 5-star accommodation. We would not hesitate to stay at the Alpine Resort Mt Buller again.

  Top of the World

  Jenny and Gummy run a tip top place, and I had the best time because of it. The room was awesome. The view spectacular. A special shout out to Tanz, Indi, and Carlos. You guys rock, and I can't wait till next time. Karate Kid

  Great mountain location!

  The location was great for us, (two women with three children five and under) as it was close to the toboggan park and due to a snowfall on the day we arrived lots of spaces close to the accommodation where the children got to play with snow. The accommodation itself was oldish in style with no kitchenette but the beds are comfortable. It would have been good to have a nappy bin or baby change facilities, even if only in the public bathrooms but it is probably seen as unnecessary as they are not the primary customers. We were able to supply all our own meals (without having to buy anything there) thanks to the communal microwave. With three little children though, it would have been good to have a broom and packer in the room for easy clean up. All in all, for the price, it was great!
