  The best hotel on a two-month tour.

  We stayed at the Alpha Motor Inn during a two-month motorcycle tour of New Zealand. Of all the hotels and motels we stayed in, this particular place stands out as the absolute best. We made sure we returned to this lovely inn on our way back up to Auckland. The rooms were spotless, nicely decorated and well equipped, the beds were very comfortable, and it was so quiet and peaceful. It was a very short walk into lovely Palmerston North, and an even shorter walk to the cafe round the corner for a very tasty breakfast. Separate review for Cafe Brie! Palmy is a lovely town, with everything you'd want or need within walking distance. Nice coffee shops, good places for food; great steaks at Aberdeen - again, separate review for that. But what made our stay truly special was Brenda and Farnie. They couldn't do enough for us, and we felt like family. I can honestly say that the best ride of our trip was once we'd left the Wellington traffic behind and found the back roads heading north to Palmy - we knew what was in store for us and were really looking forward to seeing our hosts again. Anyone coming to NZ must look up Brenda and Farnie's Alpha Motor Inn. If you don't stay at least one night here, you are truly missing out.

  good choice

  A good choice for our overnight stay. We arrived at 9pm and the lovely host waited for us to arrive and recommended places to eat. The motel is in a great location, handy to several eateries. Units are well maintained with a high standard of cleanliness. would recommend and stay again.

  Fantastic hosts

  We have been staying at this motel for four years in a row now, the rooms are wonderfully clean, an added bonus this year was the beautifully updated bathroom, the location is great with the town being within walking distance. What makes it that little bit special is the lovely hosts, absolutely amazing, we cant wait to see you next year.

  Accommodation recommend

  My first time with Alpha Motor Inn. The decor was fresh and everything was very clean. Friendly hosts, quiet location, bed was comfortable. If coming back to Palmerston North I would stay again. Thank you.

  Totally adequate

  The room and ensuite was spacious, clean, quiet, and totally adequate. This is truly a '3 star motel with 5 star attitude'. I found the lady at reception was particularly welcoming and engaging. I would definitely stay again
