Great place for trekking, skiing, climbing in Dolomites nature parksThe Alpenrose staff is exceptionally kind , the owner and his family will do everything to make you feel at home . The surroundings are so beautiful that you simply have too many choices available: Alpenrose is located in between Val Badia and Val Pusteria, places that have a fairy tale feeling... and plenty of skiing facilities - Plan de Corones is closest one . You can start walking just outside the hotel or visit a different Dolomites pass every day, without a car .Public transport is good, with frequent buses and trains. One can easily reach by bus /train famous Dolomites towns such as Cortina d'Ampezzo or ancient villages like Anterselva, and lakes like Braies, Dobbiaco etc. One can do shopping in fashionable Brunico or enjoy silence in woods . I have been at Alpenrose with my mother from 6th till 16th October - we should have stayed only 5 days but we could not leave. While I enjoyed easy walks my mother visited museums and churchs and spas. The food at Alpenrose is very good and abundant , from breakfast on . I liked especially the buffet of salads and cooked vegetables, and being Italian I am quite picky on food.Menu is varied , from fish to meat to soups and pasta and gnocchi, typical South-Tyrol recipes like canederli and good desserts . Rooms are big with lots of light , pool and sauna are available ...all for a very good price . I loved the autumn colours and I will go back in February hopefully . It is such an easy and close encounter with nature - even if you are not a climber you feel like you can touch mountains - that I would recommend it to everyone , from families to couples .

Great dinners & wellness, poor brakfastsExcellent food & wines served for dinners - broad selection, very tasty. Great to have dry sauna & steam bath alongside swimming pool. Proper size of rooms, parking place and ski room. Very nice staff. Less than 10 minutes drive to Kronplatz skiing area. Issues - only boiled eggs as a warm food for breakfast (neither any sausages nor scrambled/fried eggs), much wider assortment of hams for as startes before dinner than during breakfast. Sometimes problems with central heating. Rather thin walls, so that you hear neighbours checking-out at 6 am or Austrians singing their country music two floors below :-(

Excellent! We have stayed at the Alpenrose in February 2012 and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly too. The food was amazing, especially the salad & antipasti buffet! Also the wellness center is a little gem, very spacious and relaxing. We loved spending there couple of hours after a day on the slopes. The location of the hotel is great, just few minutes from Kronplatz. I would love to return there one day. It was simply amazing!

Great simple stay during spring skiing in KronplatzStayed (half-board) in a depandance in a house accross the road from the hotel, just a few nights during our last spring skiing in Kronplatz during the Easter holidays. Great combination of simple, a bit outdated but clean accomodation (advertised correctly, as 1 star rooms with bath/toilets) and services in the hotel like rich selection of tasty food for breakfasts and dinners, inner pool, sauna - all included in a very reasonable price. Staff really very hospitable, you can feel it is a family bussiness - and they really make you feel welcome. Parking available at the depandance or in front of the hotel, ski pistes about 5-10 mins drive from the hotel. Similar distances to cute towns in the vicinity, or to nice walks or climbs in Dolomites (maybe more important in warmer seasons, but also in Winter). Would be happy with wifi in the depandance - but it was expected (I needed to go to the lobby to get connected) - so no real trouble. Will very probably stay there again!

People make the differenceAlpenrose is a good, standard alpine mountain hotel. Well maintained, comfortable and clean. What makes Alpenrose a great place is the people! Staff was so friendly, welcoming and helpful, level which I have not experienced even in a 5 start hotels. There was nothing too difficult for the staff - we informed the hotel that we are arriving late, after the kitchen closing time, not a problem, cold cut plate, salad and bread was waiting for us, wine up for us to choose. Bar - open as long as the guests were around and so on... Service was just impeccable! Will certainly go back if a trip takes me to the area!
