Not too bad for the priceI visited the hotel because of the location, which is good. The hotel has two buildings - the old one (somewhat shabby rooms) and a brand new building. The rooms in the new building are pretty expensive and I had to pay 220 plus city tax. The hotel is all inclusive and that is why in the dinner area there are a lot of people all the time. Parking is free and OK. Internet is also free and good enough.

A small paradiseThe hotel is situated in the very small Höchenschwand, with a lot of possibilities for great walks in the nature. We were there in August and it seemed like this is a place for 50+ people mostly. Free parking is provided just outside the hotel. Indoor parking is 15/day. The new building has modern rooms, more expensive obviously, but very comfortable and with all you can possibly need. It's a 4 stars plus and I highly recommended. The room and bathroom are huge. The view on the Alps is outstanding. In the old building the rooms are very small, with very old furniture and personally I would not give this side of the hotel 4 stars. The hotel has backpacks and umbrellas in all the rooms. The food is very good, the variety of dishes was great. We had full board - breakfast, lunch, afternoon cake and dinner and everything was delicious. Lunch is only vegetarian, with no meat. Drinks until 5 pm were also included. Staff is very friendly and willing to help, everybody speaks English. The Wellness center is great. Nice pool, fitness facility, sauna, resting area. A lot of massages to choose from. On the less positive side, all the written info is only in German (restaurant menu, wellness center etc). The cleaning lady comes knocking at your door at 9 am, so make sure you put the "do not disturb" sign if you want to sleep more. If you use the credit card they charge you 2% more. Wifi stops at 11:00 pm!!!! But definitely a place you want to go back to.

Great service and value for moneyThe hotel specialises in locally sourced produce, organic and healthy eating with a huge and very good variety for all meals of the day - also for the non-vegetarians :) To make up for the ample food offer, there are at least 4 sport offers every day that include aqua gymnastics, yoga, stretch/relax classes and guided nordic walking tours. The pool and saunas are fairly small, so might get crowded when the hotel is full in peak season. With the hotel half full and long opening times, however, it was never a problem and there are several relax areas (one with a nice big fire place) that offer enough space. When booking the room, be aware that the modern suites are in a separate building and while having direct access to the spa area, you need to exit on the street in order to get to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The rooms in the old building are more traditional and seem to have been refurbished fairly recently, although the bath rooms can be very small (e.g. not everyone fits into a 70x70 cm shower). All in all the place offers very good value for money, with very friendly staff and great food. I will definitely come back.

If you like yourself you will love this placeIt will be difficult to find a place, where you can eat more healthy. All products are organic and the menu is excellent. It does not stop with the food because even the rooms, the bed, the duvet, the pillows, the floors and most of the furniture are made of complete natural products. Sustainability it written in capital letters here and the hotel got even a reward for it. The hotel is situated right in the middle of the Black Forest one thousand meters above sea level. Fresh air, tranquility and relaxation is guaranteed. You can go for beautiful walks or treat yourself from a wide choice of the wellness program. Here you can even get health advice from well trained personnel. Don't go there if you want to loose weight as the selection of food and the wide range will make it impossible. WLAN could be improved. Otherwise you definitely will love it.

Fantastic and Healthy staySpent a week at this hotel and had a fantastic time. We had booked 7 days all inclusive thinking it was just the food and probably throw in a teaser massage. It turned out that a full programme of massages everyday was planned. It was too much of a great thing so we gave up on two days so that we can visit neighbouring towns and so glad we did as we discover so much to see. The hotel even gave us a travelling ticket which we went as far as Basel in Switzerland by train and took the bus to Triberg which is an amazing town with one of the tallest waterfalls, and of course the home of the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte ( Black Forest gateau). The Alpenblick is a warm, friendly hotel and the staff were excellent and Josef was very patient with one of us. So many thanks. Also we were encourage to take away a lunch pack for days out and took part in organised Nordic walk. It was truly amazing experience The Alpenblick is a great hotel with good 5 course evening meal and home from home. Everything was Basil herb based and I was sceptical at first but felt great after only two days. Well worth visiting. I don't think its for young families which was great for us.
