  Modern ski hotel

  Nice hotel in good location for the ski lifts. Very modern hotel with nice spa and both indoor and outdoor pools. Great staff especially Andrei our waiter in the restaurant. He was very polite and always had a smile on his face. Breakfast is the standard fare you get at most hotels, but was very good and fresh omelettes and eggs were made at the egg station while you waited. Evening meals were presented amazingly, but unfortunately were far too rich for my liking. Most meats were to undercooked for me, but most people enjoyed it. Our only disappointment was our room, we had emailed in advance for a nice room with a view if possible. We got the smallest double room we have ever stayed in anywhere in we have ever been. We were so disappointed after entering the lovely hotel and then be shown to this room (217). There was just enough room for a double bed, and no drawers or anywhere to hang your ski gear when you came back from the slopes. There is obviously a wardrobe for your other clothes but you had to hang your coats and salopettes etc over the radiator in the room. Our balcony was tiny and looked out directly into anther room and also to the ladders to the roof. The boot room is lovely and warm and there are heaters for your boots so they were warm and dry in the morning. It is only about a 2 minute walk from the boot room to the main lift so it was very easy to get to the slopes of this fantastic ski area. It was our first time to this region and it was brilliant and we would definitely ski here again.

  Modern hotel with excellent food, great staff and fab spa

  The antithesis of an Austrian hotel- no wood panels and chintz, this hotel has sleek lines and art on the white walls. The good: The food was really good- probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. (which now opens at 7.30 and 7.00 on Saturday transfer day) really helpful, friendly staff throughout. Had a gin tasting one night- no charge! Great spa area too. Personally like the no costume rule! Roof top sauna good too. Naked shower overlooking the resort anyone?!! The less good: Rooms are small for the quality of the hotel. Not enough room to store ski kit. Door handles on wardrobe are square so frankly dysfunctional. No folder guide to the resort/hotel provided in the room (you know the classic ' dining hours, nearest supermarket, doctor...' folder) Ski room a bit pokey and hard to find from outside and often meant going past smoking kitchen staff) General areas could be a bit cosier- felt a bit like 'sitting in reception' Overall: Would definitely recommend - we had room 409. Small but good views

  Wonderful Christmas and New Year - lovely hotel with amazing food and service in the restaurant!

  We are regulars to Hinterglemm but this was the first time at this hotel. We arrived late after our flight and were disappointed to miss the evening meal we had booked, so first impressions were not the best. However, the following morning at breakfast we were welcomed by Mike, the Restaurant Manager. Mike and his wonderful team continued to look after us superbly over the following two weeks which included Christmas and the New Year. The standard of food was wonderful - amazing tastes and beautifully presented. However for us the politeness, attentiveness and caring attitude of the restaurant staff made this holiday. Nothing was too much trouble - they were amazing - thank you to Mike and the team! The hotel itself had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere but still maintained high standards and was kept scrupulously clean.

  Great first visit to Hinterglemm

  My husband, teenage son and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Alpen Karawenserai Hotel. Sleek, modern, warm and welcoming hotel a short walk from the lifts. The food in the restaurant was super with service to match. Bedrooms and beds were comfortable and spa facilities were great. The only downside was that there was no shuttle from the hotel to the ski school for new skiers. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel.

  Will hopefully return....

  Spent the first week of March here on a ski trip. The hotel has a very relaxing feel and the interior is beautiful. We upgraded to a suite which was well worth the money. We had plenty of room and an amazing view of the mountains. The food was superb and the staff; Michael, Christian and the rest of their colleagues couldn't do enough to make the holiday special. The hotel is in the centre of Hinterglemm itself, with just a short walk to a few ski lifts. I would love to return one day.
