A nice no frills hotel. This hotel and area is very, very German orinated, main Hotel good points, food ok, pool good, sun loungers easy to get, room ok, cleanliness excellent, centre of the area, good for walking, reception staff excellent although their English is not as good as in Parma area. Main points to be aware of, you need to pay a 10 euro deposit for the telly remote but if you are British dont bother as the channels are all in German. Unlike the Parma area, the locals here are lack basic English. Although the hotel bar and food are ok, if you wish to venture out the Mosquito bar around the corner is ok, it does a happy hour in the afternoon but be careful as it is only certain drinks. if you are with easyjet there is no rep or notice board in the hotel, when you need to know your bus pick up time you need to ask the reception the day before travel giving them the flight code etc and they will sort it for you. Also the trip from the airport is long and could take up to two hours.

Terrible StayThis hotel was just plain awful. It makes no sense that this hotel has been rated at three(3) stars as if this were in the US it would hardly come in at a one(1) star. The receptionist at night was quite unfriendly and did not value to keep our private/personal data (copies of passports) concealed and just left the papers lying on the counter out in the open for anyone to see. Nor did he explain why they needed to make physical copies of our data in the first place. Not too mention the fact that when we asked what would happen to these copies(such as if they would be securely shred) he shrugged and pointed to a trash can! The rooms were outdated(bright green color scheme out of the 80's), tiny, and smelled like mold and used sponges. Upon arrival a cockroach came running towards us as soon as we opened the bathroom door, and sadly that was not the only one we killed in our 6 day stay. The air conditioner did not really work, however when you stood directly below it you could smell and feel the mildew on you. The wardrobe smelled so bad that we rather kept our clothing in our suitcase and wrinkled than smell like a weird chemical/putrid odor. The so called beds were wooden cots with foam pads, not real mattresses, and were uncomfortable to the point that it gave us both backaches. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything from your neighbors to the sides, above, below, and anyone out in the hallway. Our room also faced the street side of the hotel which was quite loud as you could hear every single car, truck, or other motorized vehicle that drove by. We quite easily, albeit unwillingly, found out the late night/very early morning trash pickup schedules for the street of and streets around the hotel. The food in the hotel was poor in quality and selection. Most of the hot-food options were cold and tasteless. In the morning the coffee tasted terrible and the fresh fruit tasted as if the preparer had used a knife that they had just cut onions with on the fruit. The only positive about this hotel is the location. It is close to the pedestrian only boardwalk along the coast and the parking in the area is easy. The restaurants in the area were thankfully delicious and clean, considering we were too disgusted to want to eat at our hotel. One of the beaches was in walking distance, Son Moll. It was not the nicest beach in Cala Ratjada but was clean and had a restaurant. There is also a supermarket close by for any grocery needs and the cafe right across the street from the main hotel entrance was great for coffee and breakfast.

Good and no frills hotelWell, what should I say. It is a mixed bag, but overall I would also return to this hotel. Hotel is second row from the promenade ande the beach, which is actually great; easy access to the promenade and beach and yet the hotel is very quiet. The main shopping street is also only a block away and easy to reach. Plenty for sale. Reception was good and friendly; claimed to speak English, but the guy had to give up on ;-) but we speak also german so was okay. Speaking German makes life a lot easier, but English is also okay. Paid 4 / person / day to get a third floor room to the poolside, and away from the bar area. And you have a sea view from the balcony. Great. We stayed half board as that is the only option. Both breakfast and dinner is a buffet. A few items on the buffet you just wonder why they are there. Most of the buffet is fine, and some items are simply great - the fruit was always good and fresh. Often the menu on display for the evening buffet shows something else than what is actually on the buffet in th evening. Seems unnecessary but not a big deal. I don't understand why people complain about the breakfast coffee as there is Jura esprosso machine; go for that and you are fine. The other coffee machines I would stay away from. Drinks in the evening are relatively cheap, but for some reason different from what you can get at the bar. Why I can't say, but only bottled beer available in the restaurant. Wine I would not chose; it is cheap and awful. The pool area nice and quiet with sunny areas, but you can also stay in the shade. Drinks are available from the bar. Rooms are not modern, but overall alright for you what you pay for. Yeah, the rooms could be modernised, but the price would be different then. Air conditioning worked fine and cleaning service was alright. The hotel is mostly used by Germans, but less than we expected. A number of different nationalities stayed there. Also mixture of young, middle-aged and elderly people. All working out mostly quietly and easily. A small breakfast was available all night / early morning, if you have an early flight; stay away from the salami though and stick to the cheese. Service in the hotel is good, and waiters are generally pleasent, but do not speak much German or English; Spanish would be preferable. Overall a good experience and would not hesitate to recommend; just keep your expectations in line with what you pay. And enjoy.
