Good value - nice resortWe stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time, pool was great - clean and relaxing, the bedrooms were clean and comfortable and the Aircon is good quality. The resort is quiet at night as it is a good 5 min walk to all the bars/restaurants, but as that area can be quite noisy this is exactly what you would want in a resort.

Great apartment and locationWe stayed here for 10 nights and had a great time. One of the few places with two bedrooms, includes kitchen facilities, nice balcony. Beautiful frangipani, coconut and fan palm trees Pool was great - the bedrooms were serviced daily and comfortable, with good aircon. Reliable wifi. Having to pay upfront in cash was not ideal on our arrival. Had to fix the shower. The large 50 pesos water cooler refills were great - tapwater tasted very nasty. The resort is quiet at night as it is away from all the noisy bars/restaurants. Swiss manager very helpful and staff even found us a toaster and hairdryer for our stay and a wheelchair for a relative in another apartment.

Simple and Relaxing place to be in the middle of alona! If you want affordable yet decent stay in the nearest of Alona this is the place! 5mins to Alona beach Quiet location no party or construction noise. With a pool in a very green calming sorrounding Rooms are big although not new they work well. The water from shower/sink can be salty but this is nothing dangerous! The hotel is safe!

Three night stay in MarchWe stayed for three nights in Alona Swiss resort. The complex itself is set in a very pleasant complex away from the noisy road, however we struggled to sleep as light sleepers due to the roosters next door. Unfortunately I cant award more than three stars as we really did struggle to get any sleep during our stay here. Pros The host (Swiss guy) was absolutely lovely and a true gent. Location is away from the main road so very peaceful during the day Nice areas to lounge around by the pool with beautiful trees and plants to gaze at Extremely good value for money Room was a decent size considering money paid Shower was great, one of the most powerful weve had in Asia so far :-) The security guard in the day time was a total legend Cons We really struggled with the noise of animals, namely roosters/cockerels screaming at each other every hour from 1am. I could even hear them through my ear plugs. This was worse than usual for Philippines and Asia having travelled for around three months. Perhaps it was just the room we had however when I mentioned the trouble sleeping to the receptionist (lady) she didnt seem very interested. A shame as the other guy (believe the owner) was lovely. The pool was also quite dirty, lots of dead flies and insects in it. Yes, to be expected in this environment however they didnt seem to make an effort to scoop them out regularly as was the case with other resorts. Note there is no restaurant, so you have to leave the resort for breakfast etc. Shaka across the road however is a great place and thoroughly recommended! Odd bathroom design with toilet right by shower which made drying a bit of a challenge - although not the end of the world. This place is a great stop over if you are a heavy sleeper, to avoid the roosters it may be worth paying a little more for a villa / bigger room which are located in a different section. Not an option for us as in a backpacker budget.
