StaycationWas an eh okay hotel. Wasn't overly impressed at all. We wanted a weekend staycation and someone recommended this hotel. Overall the hotel was clean but noisy very noisy. Our room was on the side of a restaurant and at the end of the night the workers hung out back and were loud and obnoxious, we had to call numerous times for them to quiet it down, this happened while the restaurant was open and the worst was after hours. Nothing was really done for us, not offer to move our room not even a thank you. We won't revisit.

GreivingI had a fee night stay at the Aloft Mt.Laurel, NJ with my husband who traveled from Maine. We ha e stayed here before and ha e been here in the past for a wedding. All were very nice. Thia trip was due to my mother going into hospice and soon after passing away and the funeral. Words cannot explain how wonderful Rashaad was to me and my husband. What a nice and thoughtful man. There was nothing I needed he woukd not have done for me, that's how he made me feel and had so many kind words to say to my husband and myself. A very relaxng stay for me was most important to him. It made me feel very special and warmed my heart that was really broken. I've stayed at many hotels in my lifetime, This will now be my favorite. Thank you also to sweet young Mark who was also very kind Carolyn Giosia

Life Changing Customer ServiceSo, my apologies for how long this review will be with backstory, etc. First, this review was from a stay over seven months on April 11, 2020 (I waited to write the review after the hotel had reopened as it closed temporarily almost immediately afterwards). This was less than three weeks since the country and world had shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, something that almost all of us would have laughed at a year ago. This day was my husband's 40th birthday. Originally we had planned a trip with about 20 friends to Las Vegas to celebrate. Clearly, that didn't happen, and was only cancelled less than a week earlier. As so many of us were scrambling through life right then, so were my husband's parents, who live in an apartment in Mt. Laurel about one light away from the Aloft. As they don't drive, nor does my husband and everyone was so scared, it fell to us to drive up to Mt. Laurel on my husband's 40th to go food shopping for his parents to several different stores, since so many shelves were bare then. We usually stay at the Westin across the street, but it had already closed as a result of the pandemic. So, we booked a room at the Aloft across the street, since we live over 3 hours away, a same day trip is pretty close to impossible. When we went to check-in, we realized we were one of 3 other rooms staying at the hotel. The doors were locked, but the person working the front desk, Leah, let us right in. While she normally didn't work the front desk (she was the catering/event sales director), she had taken on new duties (as so many in the travel industry did) due to limited staffing. As she checked us in, I asked if I could pay for an upgrade to a suite (since I know some select Aloft's have usually one suite), and told her about my husband's birthday and what was going on. Without even asking us to pay, she just upgraded us to the Ultra Savvy Suite. It was huge and very stylish. I'll be sure to have a party there (once we all can again) maybe when I turn 40 in 4 years. Since that was more I could've asked for, I thanked her so much and said I guess we'll see you at check-out tomorrow? She said of course. This was around noon. Then at 3, when she was about to leave, she came up to our room and knocked on the door, holding a bag with a bottle of wine (which was one of our favorites, so didn't even know how she knew that), some glasses and some bottles of water. She said "you still have some fun on your birthday, even if it's very different then you wanted!" I was astounded (I stay in hotels from 50-100 nights a year (pre-Covid) and never have received something like this)! But, then, the next morning when we went to check-out, and Leah said, oh wait here really quick and ran to the back and came out with a birthday cake and candles, that she had bought herself, and sang happy birthday to my husband in the darkened lobby, 12 feet apart and just the three of us there...as much as I wanted to hug her, I couldn't so, we all just cried. While I always hear of life changing customer service experiences in trainings and from friends, I never truly believed in them. Mostly because, I had never really been a part of one before. However, now I have a personal story of my own. I really think a true measure of service is not how you behave when things go normally, but when things are turned upside down. I don't know if Leah is still at the Aloft (given how long it was closed), but I think her attitude really speaks to the culture of the property and the team, so the entire management should be proud of the culture they foster. Once we can travel again, I'll be back, and as I said above, I hope to book the Ultra Savvy Suite for my 40th in a few years. I'll never truly be able to repay what Leah and the Aloft did for us. But I figured sharing this story was a start. Hope everyone at the Aloft stays well and it stays as busy as possible!

Not A Good ExperienceI was in the area visiting and decided to stay at Aloft. The exterior was not nice but it was late so I checked in. Front desk guy customer service was not the best. He checked me in after I asked about there microwave. He stated someone blow up the microwave and the hotel doesn't have one for guest. I was a bit puzzled because its a Walmart literally across the street. This was a very big disappointment for me the guest. This property is definitely outdated and is in desperate need of a remodeled. This property is the very first interior design of Aloft with the SPG brand. This property has the streaming services for the TV's that was convenient. Upon checking out I asked the front desk person about the ajoining restaurant "Millers". I asked did the hotel give discount cards for the restaurant. She stated "no", I know normally most hotels offer like a 10% off affiliated or not. This was my first time in the area if I come back. I will definitely not visit this property.
