In Minneapolis for an escape? Stay here!

Great choice if youre in downtown Minneapolis to see shows or have an escape vacation. Nice arrangement with the Guthrie Theater (across the street) for a parking package room. Friendly, clean, safe, & value priced for its location. Easy walking distance to a number of fine eateries and the Vikings stadium. A Marriott hotel.

    Car broken into DONT STAY!

Asked to complete an incident report of which we did, they refused to give us a copy and refused employee names. Then was told the report was wrong report and was shread. Sherman and associates needs to clean house and educate these employees.

    Another nice stay but...

Slippery mattresses! Comfortable hotel short (5 min) walk from US Bank Stadium and metro lines (both blue and green) means an easy, inexpensive car-free weekend. Well-appointed lobby with pool table & table shuffleboard, both free, and reasonably priced drinks. Busy on game days with friendly fans. Dog friendly. Small swimming pool and hot tub, indoors. Small but nice fitness center wasn't ever crowded. The but: for some reason, the mattresses kept slipping around on the platform beds when you sat on them. Fine to sleep in but had to push them into place or risk bumping your shins on the platforms.

    Uncomfortable with Worst Layout

I booked this hotel due to location (proximity to food and the hospital where my good friend was dying)) and the fact the pool was open for a little R&R. 1- I arrived and checked in to find I would have to let in the other occupant myself. I had 2 heavy bags and tripped over a small overhang and the rep didn't help me up or offer to document or look at my bruised knee. 2- I found out the bar was not open during the days of our stay, which was not a big deal, but also not disclosed when I booked. THR POOL was OPEN and barren and the only true highlight of my stay. There is a workout room, but I did not see a game room (although I did not look very hard. The reps were often away from the desk without calling them, so I didn't ask many questions. OH, there is only one ice machine and it is next to the lobby on the first floor - highly inconvenient. 3- THE ROOM: The layout was gross. As soon as you walk in there is the restroom and wardrobe. The issues are that the amenities were of poor quality and unless you like to poo 2 feet from the coffee pot and safe, you'd best shut the bathroom door. GROSS!!! Who makes coffee or would like any restroom bits near their beverage station????? The beds were as HARD as the pillows, and there was a creepy foggy window to the shower from the "main" room. The beds and "desk" were so close it felt like an overcrowded dorm room. There was a mini-fridge, but no microwave as stated when I made the booking directly through the hotel. The TV went in and out of functioning consistently in intervals of approximately 20-30 minutes at a time. 4- If you stay here, demand to see and approve of everything before you accept the stay. COVID cautions were minimal visually. ** There was one very wonderful person in the AM who showed a very kind soul and gave me a small bit of time to gather myself and I would never want to let a few outshine the ones who really care**

    Great value and service

I stayed here for a training held in the hotel. The class was in February in Minneapolis and I thought I would be adventurous and take the light rail from the airport to the hotel. The light rail stops at US Bank Stadium only two blocks from the hotel. But that was a LONG two blocks when you are from the south and dragging a suitcase in the snow! That was totally my dumb move! I really had a really good experience at this hotel and the bed is one of the most comfortable Ive ever slept on. Without writing a novel, I will just say I had multiple times where I interacted with the front desk (not from any problem with hotel) and they were all excellent professionals. We always had plenty of coffee, water, drinks and snacks stocked in our classroom. The hotel is very close to a Trader Joes if you need any other snacks. Starbucks is right there too (next to Trader Joes). You can also access the sky bridge system in the parking garage of the US Bank stadium very close to the hotel and get to many areas downtown and be protected from the elements (this was way cool to explore). It connects 80 city blocks and the locals walk fast in there! They know where they are going! Gold Medal Park bordering the river is just behind the hotel. I walked through while it was snow packed, Im sure it is beautiful in the summer. The only reason I didnt rate it higher is probably my personal preferences but I wished there was a restaurant in the hotel. I ordered delivery twice to the hotel in the five nights I was there. Also, I am an old fuddy dud and dont like the modern layout of the room so much. The only other negative is that I needed to go to a drugstore while I was there and it was a little bit of a hike in the snow to Walgreens. It was a cool adventure but would be great if there was some type of convenience store close. Just my opinion. I would definitely stay here again and would love to see Minneapolis in summer!
