Worst hotel experience EVER! Not safe

I booked this hotel from Nov. 12th-14th. However; I didn't get to stay those 2 nights. When I first walked in, I could see approx. 8 younger gentlemen on the other side of the check-in desk playing pool. Each time they bent over to hit the ball, I got a view of their hanes underwear covering their buttocks. Meanwhile the waist of their jeans was only sitting on the lower portion of their thighs. I got checked in and immediately went to the bar to get my favorite beer which is St. Pauli's non-alcoholic. Ater sitting down and waiting 15 minutes for someone to assist me, I finally went to the bar. The bartender informed me that I had to order from there. Why didn't she tell me that before, there were only 2 other patrons sitting at the bar so she was not too busy. Instead, she was eating at the bar and talking to the patrons at the same time. I noticed that in between bites, she would make drinks without bothering to wash her hands. She was coughing into her hands putting her fingers in her mouth and was not wearing a mask. At the same time, there were dogs sitting at the bar. They would bark in between their snacks and would rest their head on the bar. One of the patrons with a dog was loud and slurring her words so she obviously had too much to drink and the bartender just kept giving her more drinks. The men at the pool table kept getting louder and every other word was either f-ck or nig-er. Then I noticed another man who was cutting the mens hair. Each time one of them was finished, they paid the guy then the next man would sit in the chair. At that point I was grossed out, disgusted and got tired of the barking so just left the bar. I went to bed around 10 pm and was almost asleep when I heard yelling, doors slamming, and pounding on doors. I peeked out of the door and saw the same men congregating in the hallway. I kindly asked one of them while he was knocking loudly at one of the doors if he would be kind enough to keep the volume down since it was after 10 pm. He just ignored me and kept pounding. Thinking he didn't hear me, I asked again. He yelled back at me and said "OK LADY". Nothing changed of course so I called the front desk and asked if she would say something to them. After 10 more minutes of them causing a disturbance in the hallway, I finally went to the front desk and asked the her again to please do something. At that time, the drunk lady came up to me to listen to my cordial conversation with the front desk lady and was able to figure out that I was not happy. She heard me say something about "noise" and immediately thought I was speaking about her and the others hanging around the bar and pool table so she became very loud and offensive which drawn the attention to the others. The man that was doing the haircuts earlier couldn't even stand up because he had so many drinks and was spilling alcohol all over the pool table and floor. It appeared everyone was drunk. It was one big shindig. The only problem was that I was the only one who was not drinking which means that I was the only one who still had my common sense. At that time some of the patrons began to yell and make snide remarks to me using profanity. One of the men was coming toward me saying something that I couldn't make out because he was slurring, spilling his drink and couldn't walk. At that point and time being a single lady and all alone, I felt very unsafe. The front desk attendant did absolutely nothing about the 3 or 4 men that were yelling at me and making the rude comments. She only looked at me and said "Well you wanted to be on the bottom floor". At that time another attendant just walked in during the commotion at the front desk. I explained to her the problem and explained that because I no longer felt safe, I wanted to check-out. There was no security or anyone to protect me should they decide to harm me in anyway, I could hear the men in the hallway making remarks and they were clearly not happy because I told the front desk that I was going to report the unsanitary conditions of the bar and the fact that a guest was cutting his friends hair next to the bar. I slipped out of the side door and was almost in my car when I noticed the bartender followed me out to my car and began yelling at me with explicit and nasty words. She was extremely upset for my complaints that I expressed to the front desk. I immediately got in my car and sped away at 11.00 pm with nowhere to go. The next day I called corporate. To this day (Dec. 1st) I have not heard from anyone concerning my experience, not the general manager of the hotel not even from corporate. That being said, I don't recommend this hotel. There is no security and no rules. Anyone can do anything they like even if it inconveniences any other guest. The photos that I have included show the bartender eating at the bar and one of the dogs which appears to be a dachshund sitting in a patrons lap at the bar. I also have included photos of a gentlemen getting his hair trimmed and other photos. I hope they will be included in this review.

The pool was nice, everything else was not

The only thing nice was the pool and the bartender! We stayed for 3 nights, saw 5 different desk clerks, each one was rude and unhappy. The breakfast in the morning is good but not spectacular. Housekeeping was not able to clean the room which we get, but the desk people should not huff when you ask for towels and soap. Not staying here again, just didn't feel right.

    Horrible experience

To start the parking situation was poor. It was a long walk from where we had to park and the entrance. When we entered there were 40 people in the lobby and almost none of them were wearing masks. It took 8 tries to get the digital key working for our room. I called the front desk about this and the staff person who answered was really rude. The room decor was nice however the room itself was terrible. There was a horrible sound coming from above the bathroom. It sounded like a helicopter was landing on the roof. I had to keep the tv on all night to drown out the noises coming from the adjacent room. The walls were paper thin. I could hear everything from the hall as well as the room next door. Did not sleep all night. A couple of bagels and pastries cost us $17 for breakfast.

    Literally- home away from home...

We live on Kelleys Island-an isolated archipelago in the middle of Lake Erie. Luv it but somewhat problematic when flying out of CLE. Travelling frequently , we have experimented with most of the airport hotels before settling on this gem! It combines a special mix of friendly service and spacious, well designed accommodations. From the time you check in and are greeted by effervescent Danni, through a beverage and friendly chat with Camille at the bar you are well prepped for a good night's rest- essential for that all to early red-eye alarm! Mornings with Ronisha, Cortez and a tasty (and free) cup of Joe complete what is always a pleasurable experience! Highly recommended.

    Exceeds Expectations

To be honest, I wasnt expecting to like this hotel after reading the reviews so it ended up exceeding my expectations. Two nights, about 20 minutes to downtown Cleveland, pool (reservations only), a few snacks for purchase in the lobby. Nothing fancy but certainly not as terrible as some others make it seem. Staff was busy but helpful and friendly, beds and room were clean and spacious. Doors in the hallway slamming throughout the night was probably the biggest downside but not much to be done about that. Would stay again.
