Awesome hotel and a great supporter of our medical mission

I stayed at Almond Hotel multiple times during my visits to Phnom Penh and their excellent service continued to shine each time. I was there as a volunteer for Project Ankgor Medical Mission. We had a group of about 90 volunteers with us and the hotel staff did an amazing job accommodating all our needs. Our clinic in Tuol Prich was 1.5 hours from Phnom Penh so the hotel arranged the buffet breakfast to start at 0530 so we could head out each morning by 0630. Any food items that we needed for to go, the staff will kindly prepared for us free of charge. Extra activities and transportation were provided upon request as well. I stayed an extra four days after our mission ended because I got sick. I was bed ridden for two days and I really appreciated the maids looking in on me during their cleaning, also providing extra water and tea. They continued to check on my health after I got better. Restaurant staff kindly made me hot garlic and honey water, my mom's remedy for cough. All staff were always welcoming and willing to accommodate any requests. Their excellent service is the reason Project Angkor and I always return. Keep up the great work!

    Wishing for a better stay.

Not the kind of stay I was expecting. When I had *visitors* inside the room. But I can't expect much. But the hotel had fantastic restaurants - Yi Sang Chinese Rest which saw many diners. Neaby: - 5mins walk to nearby AEON SHOPPING CENTRE - 5 MINS walk to nearby roadside eateries and massage shops(clean)

    Dated but nice

Take your pick: The rooms were old-fashioned and out of date, or they were quaint and charming. Or maybe a bit of both. For example, the room's door had an actual key (not electronic) that had to be turned and turned and turned to lock or unlock it. The room was clean except for the dead cockroach on the floor and the lizard scurrying under the chaise lounge. Tasty breakfast in a pleasant attractive area. Located a several minute walk from the big Aeon Mall, a remarkably modern shopping center that seemed out of place in this ancient city. It had everything including the charging cable I needed.

It was a terrible experience I have ever stayed

First of all thanks to guy who check me in at night 23:00 approximately, he was helpful however, he could better I believe. I did not get what I supposed to get compare the price I paid. Hotel no pool ( its fine this one no problem/complain because I knew) then I expected to have good break breakfast but i was very very very disappointed with the services and food. I waited almost 2 hours to get a very little breakfast. The qualities of food we order seem like it was come from the street next door ( not cooked in this hotel kitchen ) and served in baby plates for the pork rice which were unacceptable and ridiculous! The tables next to me got proper plates served that I found it was not fair at all to me. I complained to manager or a lady looked like owner but no any recovery to be done for my dissatisfaction for their hotel. I prefer to stay I guest house but not this hotel when I go back PP next time.

Best part was the dim sum at breakfast!

I was on a 19 day tour and this hotel was unfortunately a bit disappointing when compared to the other two I had stayed in so far for this trip. I stayed for 2 nights in a room on the 3rd floor on the street side and while the balcony was really nice, it was noisy next to the busy street. The door to the balcony also had space around it and you could see to the outside, so I was a bit worried about bugs and safety. The room was dated overall and bed was hard, which aren't big issues for me, but the washroom didn't seem to have been cleaned well, so I did have concerns about the overall cleanliness of the room and linens. In addition, the location isn't all that convenient, particularly for tourists who like to walk (ie you can walk, but it's a 20 plus min walk from many thing and you'll spend $3-4 US for a tuk tuk each way if you opt not to walk). The one thing that was truly excellent is that you can order off the dim sum menu for your included breakfast and the dim sum was amazing...some of the best I've had. The menu, which you sometimes need to ask for, also included noodle soups, fresh juices and lattes. The breakfast buffet, without the side menu, is decent and you can get eggs fresh prepared. Overall, if you're on a budget, you're a fan of dim sum and get a great deal, then it's decent, but otherwise it's worth passing on as a tourist. As a frequent traveller and avid Tripadvisor user, I'd suggest the 4/5 rating is high.
