Fantastisch Hotel en Restaurant for family and dogFrom the start you feel welcome. Altough a hotel of significant size, you feel at home. The hotel is ideally positioned for hiking in the mountains and the family is always willing to show the right spots. We initially planned to stay 1 night but we added to days. The food is great. You should for example ask for the apple curry soup with pear. The room room was clean and large. We did bring our dog, a labrador, and the three of us fitted the room easyly. A additional door allowed us to seperate the dog from the bedroom. The garden is spacious and has a number of sunbeds. After a day of hiking can relax and the staff serves you with drinks where you are. During our stay the internet was not working but this is only a minor glitch, even for an internet junky.

Fantastic child friendly hotel! We stayed here for a week in Jan 2014: 3 adults and 2 children under 6. Absolutely fantastic. It is big but doesn't give you the feel of a big hotel...nice and intimate with friendly staff. Nice spacious rooms. The food was truly spectacular! But the best part: child friendly! Huge playroom right next to dinner area...perfect for families....We could have nice relaxed meals while the kids were happily playing next door (after finishing their food). Loved it and will definitely be back! Also really close to great blue slopes, perfect for beginners...

Nice hotel but disappointing stayWe stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with our 9 month old daughter. The ad on the Secret Escapes website sounded great - 2 nights stay at a family friendly hotel with breakfast, dinner at the award winning restaurant and afternoon tea. Rooms came with bath tub, perfect for our baby, so we made our booking. When we arrived, it seemed as if the staff were not aware of our arrival, even though we came at close to 6pm. We had to wait for half an hour while the waiter/staff went to check on the room. When we went up to the room, we were disappointed to be allocated a room without a bath tub. This was however very quickly rectified by the waiter as he brought us a portable baby bath tub. Dinner was good, delicious but the restaurant was too overrated. Breakfast was a disappointment - cheap bread rolls, store bought jams, the butter cake was dry and hard. During afternoon tea, we had a slice of the apricot cake each - mediocre. We were offered coffee. The huge disappointment came when we checked out the next day, as we were charged for the two coffees. The waiter did not mention it was not complimentary, as we had thought it was as the ad states afternoon tea is included in the package. Turns out only the cake was free. Ad also states wifi is available, but this is only partially true. You have to stand near the reception table to use the wifi.. Wifi isn't receivable in the rooms or restaurant. There is however a big play room beside the restaurant for kids so that's great for families. Staff are very nice and friendly, which made the otherwise mediocre stay much more tolerable.

Excellent restaurantOur family visited twice for dinner, and were not disappointed. Excellent, friendly service and great food. The children's playground and table tennis were a a"hit" and just what was needed for entertainment-- as were the ducks and rabbits!
