Cozy and LovelyWe were on a pass through way to Venice and found this beautiful town to stay for the night. Booked the hotel through hotels.com. The owner was so nice to offer the four of us an outside room (own entrance) cause the room we had ordered had one king size bed and two children's beds (we were four adults). So we are pleased! Breakfast was small but if you just ask the waiter she'll bring you what you need from the kitchen. Excellent place!

Not good enoughInitially we were shown a box-like room with no windows and a door onto a shared and occupied balcony. Totally claustrophobic. We complained and were shown one which was much more pleasant. It was facing the street but was quiet enough with the shutters and windows closed. The staff were pleasant. We ate in the restaurant and the menu was reasonable if not exciting. Breakfast was advertised from 7am but really only operated from 8am. A poor selection of leftovers was all that available if you wanted an early start. Not good enough.

A hotel by a motorway...that is what it is, but the staff were greatOK, so this hotel is out of town (shame because Portogruaro is lovely) and slap bang next to a motorway. We were cycling with Exodus and anybody who knows Exodus knows they book the cheaper end of the hotel spectrum (people doing the same cycle route but with Girolibrero got the nice quaint hotel in town). So the rooms are small and it won't win any awards...BUT...we could not be bothered to cycle back into town to eat so we ate in the hotel. The owner was great, he knows his wines, told us which pastas to eat and to be fair the food was very good. We probably would not stay here again but that is down to the location, not the service or the staff...they were great.

Overnight stayWe stayed 1 x night in this hotel. I rank this hotel very low as follows Windows. The room only has 1x door opening onto a common balcony so ventilation is a problem The air conditioning could not be used as there was no remote The fridge was unplugged so was hot when we arrived. The rooms are very compact so with 2 x bags in a small room you have no space. The restaurant did a great job as did tje staff. More effort needed on the rooms amd comfort of customers I wouldn't stay here again until these items have been sorted
