  Don't exepect too much!

  Bathroom small - showerhead okay for my wife at 5ft tall but no good for me at and average 5'10"!! Window screwed shut (hazard?) and therefore no ventilation in room and apparently none in the bathroom either. No kettle - coffee filter machine provided but then no coffee or filters! As usual bed mattress hard and pillows cheaply filled with polyester - uncomfortable 2 nights sleep - thankful to leave the place after a short and disappointing stay.

  Run down but clean

  Arrived without a reservation. Service at check-in was friendly and efficient. The room was quite large and had a fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were rather small. Our room also had a part view of the port. I think the property might have been previously been student accommodation. It was across the road from a university and had a student accommodation feel to it. This is not a problem but the room needed refurbishing to bring it up to a good standard. The large window opens inwards which can be an issue if you like to sleep with the window open. I got out of bed in the early morning and walked into the open window's frame badly bruising my thigh. Yes I know, what a foolish person I am but be aware.

  OK for the money

  Quite basic but clean so you can't really complain for the money. What was odd though is that our room had 2 single beds with only 1 duvet so you had to push the beds together. Which was fine but odd, however the duvet does not come with a cover so you have the same material against your skin as other guests. Not really hygienic.

  Good base for sightseeing

  The apartments are a good size, adequate kitchen. Clean and comfortable, located just outside the town centre. There is a Le Clerc about 5 minutes away. Breakfast was included and consisted of continental with a couple of hot dishes, there was plenty of everything. The beaches are a 15 minute walk, only stayed one night on route to Brugge but would stay again.

  Good budget choice

  Stayed for 4 nights at the start of a European holiday and this budget friendly choice met my needs. I like the apartment type hotel properties that seem to proliferate in France and this one was pretty much the same as a lot I have stayed in before. Room 401 from the floor plan in the room was the smallest room type they had and was big enough for my needs. The room was basically furnished and equipped but everything there worked and the bathroom had plenty of hot water. The property had parking in the basement but the ramp down to it was terrible with bump after bump as you drove down. The location of the property was nice overlooking the harbour which like a lot of cities and towns everywhere is undergoing a transformation and becoming more residential and commercial. Overall not a bad place for the price.
