  Sorprendente. Algo alejado del centro...

  El hotel esta en una colina y algo alejado del centro de la ciudad, pero es un agradable paseo (espcialmente de ida, que es cuesta abajo...) La decoración interior es sorprendente, y da la sensación de ser un hotel de mayor categoría. La habitación era pequeña, y funcional. Lo mejor era el personal, especialmente el camarero del precioso restaurante...una recepcionista habla castellano, pero todos hablan ingles. Internet wireless en el jardín y recepción...la única pena es la distancia del centro, pero todo lo demás, muy buena opcion, especialmente por lo barato que fue!

  vale la pena

  Te hacen sentir comodo como en casa, tiene un restaurant muy bien atendido con un bueno menu y con precios acordes. El personal del hotel son muy atentos y estan a disposicion para que todo salga bien en tu estadia.

  Nice little hotel!

  We stayed in a spacious cleaned room in the newer part of the hotel. Staff was wery friendly and helpful! Breakfast was very good. Only had problems with warm water in the shower, it would constantly change to cold. Everything else was very good!

  unsafe and unscrupulous hotel

  I paid and stayed two nights (19-21May) in Hotel Alem. First, the rooms, the cafeteria, and other facility were covered with dirt and dust, several dead spiders were found on my room floor...(did they ever clean up? the hotel management didnt seem to have a heart to run the hotel well..) Second, the room, the corridor, the lobby were heavily 'smoked'...you are lucky if you are a heavy smoker coz you may enjoy cigarette virtually everywhere from pillow to blanket for FREE! Third, I saw (with my own eyes!) hookers/prostitutes walking around corridor at night.I felt unsafe and so disturbed. Last and the WORST, on my second day, after checking out , I asked the frontdesk if I may leave my backpack there for me to pick up later that evening...the staff said okay. When I returned, another staff said, ''you cannot go! you cannot get back your luggage until paying an extra 20euro!'' (the room price was only 50euro) I asked why, the staff said because 'a girl' visited your room last night..I said NO! It didnt happen!! there must be a mistake for another room! The hotel alem frontdesk refused to let me get back my backpack. It is my own property! I said I would call the police/policija! Then, the hotel alem staff said you could pay 10euro, then you could go...the frontdesk was a big guy..twice as my weight..and the taxi was waiting for me outside for 10 minutes already. I paid 10 euro. What Hotel Alem had been doing were criminal acts-- 1)theft/robbery(deprived of my rights to access to my own property-backpack), and 2)blackmailing (taken my luaggage to demand money) From what I had experienced--Hotel Alem was an unscrupulous merchant conducting criminal activities blackmailing and robbing guests. I hope my experience may be shared with other travellers and make them more informed of my review to compare with other users's reviews before booking.

  Nice place

  After visiting Hotel Alem this month only the best to people who work there and the location is also in a very peacefull part of Sarajevo. It is quite a bargin to sleep there and rooms are big and comfortable. Even that we got there very late a very friendly staff gave us all directions where to go and what to see in Sarajevo. Thank you for the good times we had there.
