  Lovely Weekend

  Lovely weekend at Aldwark Manor. Arrival lunch and drinks were excellent, all served with COVID secure measures in place. Room service was perfect, arrived on time and very tasty. Gutted the hotel is closing for 3 months for refurbishment but cant wait to return.

  Luxury Hotel

  Just had a fabulous 2 night stay with kids in adjoining bedroom. Rooms really lovely. Booked an hour slot in the pool both days. Changing rooms not clean or in good condition but I understand its being renovated over winter as well as the spa. Table tennis an added bonus which we used. Had some lovely local pub meals out - the New Inn at Tholthorpe and one night walked down the road to the Aldwark Arms. Breakfast was good even though no longer buffet service. V disappointing that many of the hot breakfast options were extra money including the pancakes. When you pay for bed and breakfast you would normally expect breakfast to be included.

  York short break

  Hotel is great to relax. Staff here are brilliant in all areas. Restaurant is stunning. Awesome food. Have stayed here a few times now for business and pleasure and cannot fault the place any time I stayed here. Stayed in both the older section and refurbished section and both have great character in the rooms. Definitely recommend and if you play golf even better . Well done Aldwark Manor, keep up the good work.

  REARRANGED (AGAIN!) WEDDING

  Not a trip yet but one which we cant wait to make and just wanted to put down how amazingly grateful we are to all at our chosen venue. We booked our wedding in 2018, loving the grounds and Leah in particular and through no fault of anyones have postponed it three times we are now in for September 2021 and they have held the same price throughout. Cant ask better than that given all the upgrades the place has had hardly recognise it. Wow! A huge thanks Lewis and team we can't wait.

  Wedding cancelled, do not recommend, bad service, appalling

  Cannot put into words how utterly disappointed we are with Aldwark Manor. We booked our wedding over 2 years ago for October this year and we contacted to see if we could move it to next year. We was told that we couldn't do this as we had a package with the previous owners and that stops the end of this year. They said they would look into this for us and then got a phone call back after speaking to the owners and they told us that they have decided to give our deposit back to us and cancel the wedding as there will be renovation work taking place and it would be a "construction site". Not only was this disappointing after having our heart set on a venue but also very stressful as weddings early this year had to re book theres due to covid so would be difficult to not only find a venue we liked but also find one that was affordable and available. It was also very clear that the owners didn't even realise our wedding was booked in as they stated that they didn't want any weddings to go ahead later this year! We asked if we could speak to the owners regarding this and was told that they will not agree to speak to us and we had to speak to the manager! It is quite clear that aldwark manor is no longer customer service based and is now money orientated. If you would like to go with a posh showy Hotel that doesn't care then aldwark is the place but if you would like to go with a lovely hotel that also cares about its customers and will do the most to make you happy, look elsewhere. Be aware if you have booked at aldwark manor, I would advise you phone to check they can still accommodate you.
