  Our first choice for Toronto

  We stayed here twice on our recent 30 day trip to Canada, once at the beginning, and again at the end. We have now stayed here three times. The house is charming, there is now a guest area where you can make a drink, or prepare a light meal. Breakfasts are huge and freshly cooked. The rooms are comfortable, great wifi and really good beds. Plenty of hot water, and the owner is charming and we were allowed to leave our luggage there till our flight was due. So close to downtown, in an up and coming area.

  Toda una experiencia

  Muy buena experiencia. Te traslada al siglo pasado. Parece un museo. Muy interesante. Nos tocó la habitación del ático. Muy muy amplia. El aire acondicionado y baño funcionando perfectamente. Geoffrey muy atento y muy amable al igual que todo el staff. Sólo deben tener cuidado con el desayuno si son intolerantes a la grasa pero muy buena experiencia y sobretodo la ubicación privilegiada al estar en pleno centro de Toronto

  Pretty Old House

  Comfortable and well located old house. The house is really old and this is its charm. Breakfast is excellent and localization is very good! Rooms are difeferent and depends on the availability. I was lucky to get superior room, one floor just for me.

  Close to City Centre, Clean and Quirky Accommodation!

  We had a pleasant stay at Pimblett's Downtown Toronto B&B earlier this month. The accommodation was very clean and the breakfast was lovely, although is served from 9 til 11 in the morning, so if you need to be out early you might miss out! It was worth sleeping late for though, with coffee, tea, juice, bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes and potatoes presented as well as toast with condiments. John the cook was lovely to talk with too, as were the other guests. We only met Mr Pimblett once but he was very friendly. We also liked the dog and cat! We found the B&B was in a great location for walking, it only took 10 to 15 minutes to get to the centre of the city to explore. While at first glance the area looked a bit dodgy, we actually felt very safe, even at night. It was well lit and there were people around at most times. We really liked the decor, but I can see that it may not be to everyone's taste, as it was quirky and eccentric. But it was interesting and a bit different to where we usually stay so it was good. The only real issue we had was that when we arrived we did not have a phone to contact the reception, so we had to wait until the cook let us in. It was lucky that he was still there. We collected our key but then on our return had to wait until someone let us in to tell us which room we were in. It all worked out well, and it was a good place to stay, but just be mindful that there may not be someone to let you in if you don't arrange a check in time. I would stay there again and would recommend it for travellers.

  TERRIBLE, UNSAFE still waiting for the REFUND

  It was central enough to walk to another more appropriate Hotel accommodation a few blocks away the next morning after cancelling the next 3 nights. The first night was enough. The bed was comfortable but with all the clutter, dust and cobwebs and exposed electrical work, no air conditioning couldnt sleep for wondering if the place would go up in flames during the night. A picture of a young Queen of England and Duke of Edinburgh over looking the bed while you sleep didnt give much comfort either other than a reminder that your in a time warp. No refund was forthcoming (30 days waiting) or response from owner to emails and texts about refunding the 3 nights accommodation he said he would refund. (dishonest practices), on phone call he did mention to refund but so far nothing. House very old and in bad state of disrepair, front porch floor boards rotten, poor plumbing, toilet leaked and not flush properly. Stay at your own risk, it just not safe with the electrical sockets piggy backed, one spark and up it goes. The key to bedroom kept jamming, hard to open, bathroom is down corridor and locks with a cupboard latch, no soap provided. Shower mechanism hard to manage with weak hot water. No lift so use of narrow creaky stairwell to bedrooms. Unable to control heat to room other than use a large size book from the shelves to cover the vent. Neighbourhood is a little dodgy with homeless people about. Cannot recommend, stay at your own risk.
