Brilliant, homely place with plenty of charm and lovely owners.I recently visited for a weekend break with a group of friends and my partner for a 70th birthday party. The winery is located fairly close to the main town but in a sufficiently secluded location. The surroundings are beautiful and the buildings are full of Olde world charm. The owners were perfect hosts and couldn't do enough to help make our stay comfortable. There is a heated indoor pool and a sauna. We had a 'mystery' meal, which comprised of 7 courses. The fish was freshly caught in the local river and was prepared beautifully. The atmosphere was relaxed and jovial. The vineyards are spectacular to see. Well worth a visit.

A wonderful, restful place to stayI stayed at the Albergue do Bonjardim for the weekend. It was a wonderful, restful place to recharge after a hectic couple of work weeks. The owners were very welcoming and warm, and went well out of their way to ensure that I had everything I needed and that my stay was comfortable. They were terrific. A lot of what is on offer is an honour based system, which is wonderfully trusting, but really enhanced the feeling of being at home. They were also very happy for me to walk around the vineyard and across the whole of the property, and to show off the wine and beer making facilities they have. I was there for a large dinner with family and friends, and the food, drink and service were terrific. When we wanted to stay until well into the morning hours, they left us to turn off the lights! I will definitely stay here again when I am next in the area.

An oasis of calm and history surrounded by a working vineyardWe stayed here for two nights among the beautiful surroundings of this vineyard. The owners have been toiling here for over thirty years producing organic wines. The rooms have all different names and we were in the garden room which was really comfortable. Our fellow relatives stayed in other rooms in the big mansion (to me) which is the main house. The personal service and attention by the owners is second to none and the pathways through the grounds lead on to new discoveries all the time. We even had a guided tour around the grape crushing process which was happening at the time. The restaurant is second to none. You will just love it here

Fabulous vinyard locationSuch a lovely homely beautiful and relaxing vineyard. In a little village with beautiful surroundings. Very cosy and homely atmosphere, decorated with a warm touch and great homely style. We felt like coming home to dear friends. The breakfast was beautiful. Everything presented outside in the garden and tasted so good. Fresh from the garden with figs melon perfectly cooked eggs honey musli cheeses hams, well all you could ask for. The dinner was winepared and many dishes in a rustic style and natural tastes. We loved it. The whole place make you feel like you are in another century but still with a barefoot luxury feeling. Thank you Hubertus & wife. We enjoyed every second we were there.

Wonderful stay with wonderful hosts! My family and I LOVED our stay at Bonjardim. The highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality and kindness of the owners, Huub and Wil. The beautiful property was absolutely stunning as well as the landscape around it. The wine course was highly informative for inexperienced taste buds (mine) as well as highly experienced taste buds (my fathers) and the food was great! I recommend trusting Huub and Wil's advice for the activities during your stay. We will definetely come back.
