  so-so

  I am rather hesitant and upset that they made a copy of my ID. I know it's for security purposes but according to the terms and agreement of Mastercard that in no way or cause should a merchant make a copy of the card holder's ID unless it is for shipping. The room is alright, dirty bedroom floor, lots of dust bunnies under the bed and table, mold on the wall but tried to cover it... Spotless bathroom. I didn't try the breakfast. Friendly host (i forgot the name of the young man) a little snobby hostess, there was also a young lady (i think she is the daughter or grand daughter of the hostess) she is very nice and friendly, she tried to assist me with the TV but i fixed it in the end. I can hear the foot steps of the people upstairs. I will only comeback if left with NO choice. 3 star is too much i think this is just a 2 star hotel.

  Good value for price...

  Small clean hotel, good enough for what you pay and for one night. Went there with a big group and most of the rooms were clean, and they managed very good the whole group. Service was good enough and available for help. Of course you can find better hotels but I don't think you will get them for that price.

  In the heart of Trieste

  Albergo al Viale was recommended to us by family. What a great find and great location. The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable. Having an espresso machine for my morning coffee was a very nice touch. The hotel is just minutes from the centre of Trieste and there is no need to rely on public transport or taxis. The staff were extremely helpful. I would certainly return.

  a collection of trade-offs

  Priced at over 100eur/night in July and situated just off the city center in a busy pietonal area, this hotel is a small collection of trade-offs. Location is good, 15 min walk from the central pier, Molo Audace.. streets are quite small in the area, not a very good ideea to drive to this location, as the only place we could find for daily parking was in the 'tribunale' area, 1km walk away. The seem newly redone, we appreciated the quality of fixtures in the bathroom, but there is a lot of noise from the restaurant patrons untill midnight or so when they probably close. Breakfast very basic, cold food only, boiled egg smelled bad.. good coffe though. All in all this hotel is not such good value for money but it gets you close tobthe heart of Trieste and Italy.

  So we are heading for the airport time to take in Trieste. A hotel central to the city with car parking just round the corner 24hrs is 15. Tucked up a side street withave a no thru road the hotel was nice n quiet. You can park and drop your bags before using central parking. Check in was easy and we had a room on the 2nd floor using the lift. The room was a twin very comfortable bed decent sit in shower too. The room had a coffee machine. It was located out the back and it was very quiet. The best nights sleep of the trip so far. Breakfast was continental style with a large selection on offer. Hotel is definitely worth consideration considering its proximity to centre.
