Quaint cotrgaeThe owners/employees were accommodating and super nice. The cottage was efficient and a nice place to kick back after a day of hiking. Better than a hotel but efficient, nothing plush about it, clean, great WiFi. The breakfast was left in your mini frig. I was a little disappointed because it was a jimmy dean freezer sausage biscuit, packaged muffin, yogurt, and pack of oatmeal. That being said, I think this may have been due to covid because there was an on-site restaurant that was closed. Wed stay here again.

So disappointedWe have stayed here several times in the past with great experiences. The single cabins are great, and the staff is nice. Unfortunately, this trip we are in a multiple rental type unit behind the main office. We are in the bottom unit, and a family with small children are directly above us. It feels and sounds like a herd of elephants running and jumping on a wood floor. The vibrations are so bad, the ceiling light is creaking and swaying. Its non stop. This unit is also well past worn, and weve killed over 10 spiders. Disappointing doesnt even cover it.

Inexcusably Poor Guest TreatmentMy family and I were looking for extended-stay lodging from Feb 1st - April 1st 2021. We were moving to Alaska from the lower 48, and needed a place to live while in the process of purchasing a house. I had contacted Karen Harris, the owner of Alaska Garden Gate BnB, in December 2020 and secured our reservation for an extended stay. Karen informed me in late January 2021 that it was possible the property would sell during our reservation dates, but that she was doing everything she could to ensure current guests could stay as long as possible, and that future reservations were honored. We checked into the Cottonwood Cottage on Feb. 1st. 2021 with no problems. During our stay, we were given notice that both property appraisals and inspections were taking place and were asked for our patience and understanding. I had email Karen multiple times to clarify our reservation and status of the property's ownership. Karen again responded that the contract and sale had not been finalized and she would let me know. On the morning of February 10th, Karen called to informed me that we needed to vacate the property within 24 hrs due to the sale of the property. Karen stated that the new owners were not going to continue with a BnB business, and that they required all long-term tenants and short terms guests to leave immediately. We complied with the abrupt request and thankfully found alternative lodging the same day. However, we were subsequently charged extra nights through Feb 13th. While a refund was provided for those extra nights; based on Alaska Garden Gate BnB's February 19th Facebook post, they are actively taking reservations through March 16th. While Alaska Garden Gate BnB will no longer be an active business come March 16th, I would not recommend any individual to do current or future business with an owner and company who treats their guests with such blatant disrespect and deceit.

Horrible stay. We were put in a run down trailer.Horribly, horribly disappointing. When my fiancé and I arrived we were SHOCKED to find out we had been placed in a run down trailer, not a cottage. I cannot express my overwhelming disappointment in this B&B. To be clear there are absolutely no pictures of this run down trailer on the website. We expected to arrive to the cute cottages that were advertised online. To our dismay this trailer had no hot water and honestly barely any water came out of the faucet at all. We had no access/control to the heat or air. Online they advertise a two bedroom apartment. I can only assume the trailer is part of the two bedroom apartment. The controls were most likely on the other side of the sketchy dead bolted door. I am embarrassed for the owners of this establishment. I can only hope they put an end to this ridiculous false advertisement and post pictures of the trailer on their website. Only then will other like myself have a chance to know what they might be lucky enough to score a night in. Cheers to a great bait and switch, Karen. We had a hell of a time, clearly.

Perfect for our weekend getaway! What a gorgeous property! With an awesome view! My girlfriends and I planned a little runaway and Garden Gate filled the bill perfectly. Our accommodations (2 bed/2 bath) were perfect for us. It was clean (except for the stove and broiler) with ample storage space for all of our stuff. We asked for extra towels and blankets. The staff was prompt to respond and they did so with a smile and a good attitude. The only less than stellar part of our experience was the kitchen: no cooking furnishings. Thankfully, the one of us that arrived earliest let the rest of us know so we brought our own pots/pans/utensils because we had a menu planned. No big deal. Had we not been forewarned about the lack of kitchen equipment however, this would be a different review. Overall, it was a great weekend, a lovely apartment worth recommending.
