  Alarm Motel

  We arrived after hours and keys were ready, air-conditioned turned on, free water in fridge plus a welcome plate of fruit chilling in the fridge. Although we arrived after reception closed, we were still able to order dinner and have it delivered to our room. Service was 150% after being on the road for 11 hours. Room was very clean and tidy. Management and Staff are very friendly. The Chef makes excellent meals. Very quiet and comfortable accommodation. 5 Star

  Highly recommend

  Our room was lovely and clean, We had a refreshing small plate of complimentary fruit waiting for us in our room. The staff and management we so friendly and helpful. We ate in the motel restaurant, we had the barramundi and the garlic prawn pasta and they were both delicious. I highly recommend this place! I will defiantly be staying here on my next trip to Mackay.

  Overnight Xmas visit to Mackay

  Friendly reception from hosts and receptionist. Room was good size and spotless. We were impressed by small extras - TV and aircon controlers were in sanitised plastic sealed bag, also complementary bottled water and small fruit dish provided in the refrigerator. We will most definately stop again at the Alara.

  Positives and Negatives

  We stayed here recently whilst travelling home, the room was spacious and comfortable. While there were positives there were some negatives such as the welcome mat outside the room had a couple of large piles of fluff and dirt on it, bedside table was very dusty and the toilet cistron buttons had some weird green stuff around it. Positives which I thought were great were the small shelf in the shower which is great to put your own items on there, the shower dispenser of soap and hair products, the dispenser next to the bathroom sink which even had shaving cream and the towels were extra large and fluffy which can sometimes be a rarity. We had room service for dinner and if your menu specifically states cooked to perfection that is what I expect, unfortunately what we ordered did not live up this. All in all a nice motel.

  Absolutely loved it. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly lovely added extras eg beautiful fresh fruit plate in the fridge waiting for ur arrival, aircon on to cool you down and remote controls in plastic after being sanitised Now the food in the restaurant- totally amazing 5 star taste and experience at reasonable motel price absolutely loved it Will stay here again and recommend to friends Thank you for making us feel so welcome
