A terrible waste of potentialSorry this is a very long review but please read if you are seriously considering visiting. This hotel is potentially lovely. Small enough to make you feel like you matter and big enough to make sure there are enough facilties. Unfortunately this potential is squandered through atrocious management. Yes we went at the end of the season so maybe it wasn't at its best, but some of the basics were so badly managed that you can't honestly believe that anyone would accept that standard at any time if you had any pride in what you do. Drinks A hotel that cannot provide glasses for guests has really lost the plot. Ice cubes were rationed and if you got a glass you kept it. The barman would wash it out then serve your drink in the wet glass. Even when the hotel was barely a third full at the end of our stay there still weren't enough glasses, goodness knows what its like in high season. Also drinks had a habit of being 'finish'. On our first night I asked for white wine to be told this. On asking for red instead, the barman poured half a glass then announced this was also 'finish'. The bar had no tonic water for the last three days of our holiday but the bar staff still served us gin and tonic without saying anything. It was awful stuff. At an all inclusive hotel you would not believe this could happen. Food On the plus side I thought the food was generally good. There was a good variety each day. There are reviews on here that say it is repetitive. It's only repetitive if you don't want the beautiful salads and bulgarian stews etc. They do provide pizza three times a day and chips burgers and spag bol for people who don't like real food!! The food is served at a lower temp than we do in the UK and there was a problem with wasps and flies at times. Also there is only one coffee machine so the queue at breakfast was sometimes ridiculous. Most hotels serve drinks in pots for breakfast to deal with this problem but not here. So the queue often interfered with people getting breakfast because everyone was getting in the way. Staff The main problems are with the staff who are mostly at best, surly and at worst rude. One or two, notably the food and drinks manager and some of the reception staff do actually smile and try to make guests feel welcome, but most seem to see guests as a nuisance and try to put people off from asking for things by being rude/ignoring them. I have never been to a hotel with such abominable customer care before. One lady told me she had arrived at 11pm tired hungry and thirsty and the staff in reception just told her there was no food or drink to be had anywhere in the hotel and had no sympathy or suggestions for helping her even find a bottle of water. Rooms The rooms are clean and generally adequate, although there is not enough drawer space for two people's clothes for a fortnight and we were only provided with 4 hangers between us. Air con is good. The rooms get serviced daily and our maid was good but on other floors people complained that just the bin got emptied and nothing else. The main issue for us was the drain smell which was v unpleasant. They came and put bleach down but it just came back. They only give you one key which is fine if you go everywhere together but causes a problem if one person wants to stay out and the other return. The manager has said in here that this can be solved by handing the key in but you can't do that if you are in the room at night as you need it to have the lights and aircon on. And I wouldn't want to go to sleep and leave the door open. Pool The pool is small but adequate. I can imagine in high season there might be a problem getting sunbeds as there are only 32 for around 200 guests but we didn't have a problem. The main issue for me was the constant loud music played making it impossible to read. The music varied from a local radio station to what sounded like a eurovision greatest hits medley. All at a really intrusive volume. Nowadays when everyone has access to music on their phones and the hotel has WiFi it seems unnecessary to inflict this on everyone all day long. Why not let people listen to their own music or read??? One of the worst things that happened while we stayed was that one of the staff who was one of the few who was pleasant, got sacked when there seemed to be a misunderstanding with other staff after she was seen being friendly with a couple of guests. She was manhandled off the premises by the assistant manager and despite the police being called, he remained in post and she was sacked. This was deeply shocking and was made worse by the fact that the management kept saying she had not been sacked and would return. However she never did and we saw her later in a new job at a local bar. The manager of the hotel, who replies to comments on trip advisor, never came out to talk to anyone about these events or any of the other issues. It all left a very bad taste

The worst experience of my life!On arrival the reception staff, Irena was very helpful, and the man that took us to our room, was enthusiastic and pleasant, unfortunately, this is where it ends. The staff, in particular, the bar staff were extremely rude, arrogant and ignorant, they would not even acknowledge that we were stood at the bar. The waiting staff were also from the same clone and thought nothing of taking your newly filled plate away when we fought back to get try and get a drink from the dispenser. The food was mediocre at best and we knew at lunchtime what was going to be on the hot plate at the evening meal. If anyone was going to this hotel just go bed & breakfast, as it is a waste of money going all-inclusive, especially as it is so cheap to eat out locally. If I had to recommend a country to give a miss this is the one, it is still stuck in the old communists' era! The unspoken heroes of this hotel were the cleaning staff, the rooms were immaculate and clean towels and bedding daily, well-done ladies the only people I tipped whilst there!

Never againChecked in 11/9/19 thought place seemed nice, stayed in room 607, balcony was quite small but otherwise nice room. In my opinion the assistant manager is a bully. On the 13th Sept there was an incident where my partner shook hands with the waitress and an argument ensued with one of the other staff saying her behavour was sexual, the assistant manager grabbed the waitress and dragged her (with arms behind her back), out of the hotel and accross the 2 roads before letting her go. When we asked the manager about the girl he said she would be back he following day, she was not there and we asked again, same reply when iin fact she had been sacked. Another of the residents told us he had seen the girl working in a bar. All of this did not make for a comfortable feeling, spoiling our first few days. Our first week was good weather but the seond week was the end of the season when most things were closing down for the end of season, and also the weather changed on the second week so much cooler and several days with some rain. Another consistent problem was the shortage of glasses for drinks which regularly were served in plastic, and it did not help that the bar ran out of tonic so the barman served a Gin with Soda water. The best thing about the place were the reception staff.

" Finish"In my opinion this is the worst holiday I have ever had. It was not all bad.The hotel was clean and tidy, and the reception staff were good. Then it all went downhill.A waitress was manhandled off the premises by the deputy manager after being sacked for being sociable with the guests. The police were called. Nearly everything drink size ran out at some point. A hand gesture and the word ' finish ' seemed to be the answer to everything.I could go on for hours. Never ever again.

Nice Hotel BUT!!!Well I have to say that the Hotel was a lovely hotel, the pool area was rather small (not what I'm used to) but clean. Due to the time we visited (Saturday 21st - Saturday 28th September) our party of 5 didn't have to fight for the sun beds (well that was until Friday 27th, when they started shutting the hotel down) - just a shame the sun didn't reach the pool area until around 11:30 am - but your can't blame the hotel for this. Even the area where is was, wasn't too bad, nice and flat (which helped as I use a wheelchair) but it was the last week of the holidays and the area was rather desolate and looked abandoned, as many of the supermarkets and hotels were already closed for the season. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was nice but 9/10 times cold, this was due to the doors to the pool areas been open, which were opposite where the food was laid - don't know why the staff didn't close them!! Biggest question?? Would I recommend this hotel and go again?? Sorry but the ANSWER is a big fat NO - I have never been to a hotel in all my years of travelling where 98% of the staff were so rude. You can blame the language barrier as much as you want but this was just plain ignorant and damn right rude. The only pleasant friendly staff, where the reception staff and the Manager of the food and drink. Another disappointing part of the holiday was that the hotel started shutting down around us on Friday 27th September, they only left 9 sun beds around the pool, we were watching them remove the sun beds, umbrellas, the pool shower and on the Saturday 28th after breakfast they closed the restaurant and removed everything from it. With regards to this last comment, I have made Jet2 aware of this, as I feel we should have been told that it was the last week of business and I wouldn't have booked the holiday. But I have since been told that it is Jet2's first year in Bulgaria. Note to hotel - please choose your staff for next years season, more carefully. They don't have to speak English, as a smile works every time. You should also stop your staff from using their phones at work - as they were on them a lot and ignored quests.
