  Enchanting rooms just some meters over the sea

  Unfo, only 1 week spent here on this on earth Staff very professional & helpful. Rooms' quality very high: perfectly clean, a lot of comfort, spacious & bright, with a very nice & open view over the bay. You can listen to sea's sound, bcs the water is just under Your balcony. The restaurant can offer a lot of lovely, varying & rich dishes everyday. Warmly recommended for vacations just to get an unforgettable memory of Greece

  Beautiful view

  We had been trying to get to Astypalea for 17 years. We first fell in love with this Dodecanese Island because it is shaped like a butterfly. On the map, the wings look smooth, but the reality is that it is a very tattered butterfly! Like the Cycladic islands, in September it was dry, barren and forbidding-looking from the air. We flew because the ferries land in the wee small hours - not a good time to arrive anywhere. Our trip to the hotel over switchback roads, seemed longer than the 8 Kms or so. A decent pick and shovel would have this into 2 islands, too. It's only 100 M wide at the isthmus. We arrived at Akti Hotel and were handed a key. Found our room (ourselves) - "finding" the light switch in the passage was interesting - and let ourselves into a pretty, if small room with a balcony which overlooked a stunning view of the tiny harbour. The harbour is surrounded by a tumble of sugar-cube-white houses, up to Hora and a line of windmills on the skyline. Hora sits right under a castle, which has the blue cupola of a Greek Orthodox church peeping out of its top. By the way, the room also has a superior bathroom with good hot water and a big window. So you can shower and look at the view. When we found the staff, they were friendly and accommodating. We were the last visitors of the year and as we left, they closed the hotel around us. However, we had the room until we left at 5pm for the airport. All in all, a blissful 4 days.

  Great stay!

  Great place located in Pera Gyalos (old port) with amazing view right in front of the castle. Possibility to dive directly from the place in crystal clear waters! Very helpful and kind staff, with a great fish restaurant

  Wonderful view but 0 comforts/facilities

  We stayed at Atki rooms for five nights in August 2019, and since the price was really high (150 euros per night) and the sea view pictures were very captivating (which we can confirm!), we expected it to be a wonderful accommodation. We were wrong. The reasons are as follows: - Very low level of comforts in the room: non-existing acoustic insulation (constant strong noises overnight from the communal parts disturb your sleeping hours, the door has an inconsistent thickness) uncomfortable and rigid mattress and pillows, provision of single sheets and bed cover on a double bed, one broken light fixture on the bedside table, the air-conditioning doesnt work properly with the result of the temperature going up and down. The room is separated from the bathroom through a thin glazed glass door, which let the light flow in the morning and doesnt provide an acceptable level of privacy. - Room furniture and finishes: window curtains are broken, the wardrobe is very old-fashioned, the bathroom is out-of-date with broken suppliers (basin, wc, light bulbs, mirror, shower are all damaged and not working properly). - Facilities: wi-if is hardly working, with a low speed connection. No welcoming set at the check-in, not even a bottle of water. Breakfast is served from 9 to 11 am, and at 10am the food is almost finished, with no prompt supply by the waitress. The quality of served food is really low, most of it is not fresh and theres no way to have an espresso since they serve only Nescafé and bad American coffee. Choice is very restricted among fruits, jams and sweets (only preserved products). The hotel doesnt provide a real reception and sometimes theres just a girl, who is in charge of cleaning, serving the breakfast and welcoming clients. Theres a pick-up service upon arrival, but no drop-off service at the check out. The girl at the reception suggested us a very inconvenient time to be dropped-off at the port, with the result of calling a taxi instead. - Cleaning: the hotel and the rooms with terrace are generally poorly cleaned. Room cleaning service is provided everyday, but in reality floors, furniture, bathroom and terrace are always dirty and not properly swiped. The only facility provided is the change of towels every two days. Theres no basic renewal of shower gels and shampoos when finished. At the entrance on ground floor dirty sheets/towels and cleaning tools are stored beside the main door, being visible to everyone.

  Awful

  Decandent room and very poor service, no reception, the only girl is from time to time present in the hotel and she has no professional attitude towards clients. Breakfast is insufficient and food served is low quality, no real coffee, no fresh food or fruits, sweets and salty preserved products that evidently come directly from the super market. Low level of hygiene, rooms are not properly cleaned and dust is everywhere. Furniture and fixtures are very old and some of them broken (the toilet in the room is completely out of date). Price is incredibly high and one would expect a similar level of hospitality/facilities. The only good aspect is the sea view. Be aware that the photos shown on the Internet dont match with reality.
