    Very Disappointed

    We have just checked out and moved hotel , I checked reviews and thought looks ok how wrong can they be! The whole complex looks very run down , gardens unkept and dirty sun beds . First room we had was very damp, second one no hot water. Food very poor quality with small plastic cups and basic furniture in dining areas. To be fair the English lady on reception was helpful in moving rooms And they did agree a refund but made the first 2 days of holiday very traumatic and stressful. I appreciate different people have ideas on hotels but honestly AVOID. I dont normally like complaining as it effects the business but it ruined the start of a hard earned holiday.

    Family Holiday

    We booked this hotel before the Coronavirus pandemic, & asked our travel operators if it was safe to still travel. Which we were told, Yes ! We ended up being a handful of the remaining guests in the hotel due to our airline canceling our flights due to the above, & were just left stranded. The hotel staff & Tracy the receptionist, went out of her way to help accommodate all the requirements need by the remaining guest. Even booking new flights for some people. From our experience, its nothing like the bad reviews wed read. The staff are great & very welcoming, the rooms were clean & cleaning was done on a regular basis. The food was excellent, 5* for the chef. Something different to choose from every day. When we arrived we were given a room that had an electric fault, this couldnt be fixed so were allocated another room the following day. The hotel is situated in between Coral bay & Paphos centre. Its not walking distance, but a bus stop on the main road. The sea views are incredible & its a lovely place to chill out & have a relaxing time in the sun. Thanks for making our time so enjoyable Frank, Lisa & family

    Family Holiday

    We went here in February. The hotel was OK, with nice surroundings but is let down a bit by certain members of staff. The room Our room was fine. We had few ants here and there but not too many to be bothersome. The fridge was fine. I thought that another review said that there would be a bottle of water in the room on arrival. We didnt have any. The hotel shop was closed. After a long journey, people are going to be thirsty. This is really something hotels need to get clued up on. Please leave just one bottle of water in the room - even if you need to add a couple of euros to the price! So there is a 24 hour min market about a 1/3 mile walk away - so I had to hike there for water. The beds were fine, we had no trouble sleeping. The Hotel The surroundings are fine, no problems there. If you want to go into town then its very easy to get a bus, but again its about a 5 minute walk to the main road. One very good service the hotel has is to arrange taxis at a pre arranged and reasonable price with a preferred supplier. We used these to get to mall when it was raining. We couldnt experience the entertainment on offer as the seating area was full every time we tried to get in there - so I cant comment on that. The Pool The outdoor pool areas looked very nice but it was too cold at our time of year to use them. We tried the indoor pool but it was full of out of control kids spoiling it for every one else. The pool staff repeatedly told them to behave but it had little effect. Not the staffs fault, but we gave it a miss after that. The Staff Heres where we had some problems. The reception staff were great, always friendly, always helpful. Some of the bar staff could do with lessons in hospitality. Id say to the management to just watch how people are served from a distance and ask if thats a friendly welcoming experience. Some staff were fine, some not so. The same story for the dining room. Some staff are fine. Others seem particularly miserable. Sometimes our drinks order was taken when we first sat, other times we were ignored for ages and I had to hunt someone down to request drinks. Also, you see people getting cocktails delivered to their table and then ask Can we order a cocktail? to be told No cocktail orders to the table! One time we requested drinks and were just grunted at by the waiter and then ignored - no drinks. Maybe a language difficulty or something, but he had eventually gotten us drinks the night before. One other incident to note - we are a family with a toddler. It takes a long time to get ready and you cant time nappy changes. One day the cleaner knocked on the door and my wife said that we werent quite ready to go out yet. Apparently the cleaner heaved a sigh and looked a bit put out by this. When we did leave, we found our clean towels had been left outside the door. A simple OK, I can come back later, but let me just give you these towels would have been nice. The Food We were all inclusive. There isnt a massive variety of food but we always found something tasty that we liked. No real complaints here. Special mention to the lady working in the hotel shop. She was always smiley, friendly and welcoming. If all the staff were like her it would be a pleasure to go back. As it is we would probably like to try a different hotel next time. This one wasnt awful, but the bad staff experiences would encourage to try something different next time.

    Disappointed

    Stayed for 7 night on arrival room was ok but balcony on a deserted land with about 6 cats all roaming and walking on the balcony. Asked to change rooms and was given a room but had to bake all the beds etc ourselves which we didnt mind. We arrived at 10 pm so no where open to get food as the food finishes at 10.00 pm, fair enough never mind we thought. We were all inclusive so the next day we were happy to find the food quite good, quite slot of selection and changed theme on daily basis. The coke was disgusting tho in the restaurants. Sun beds hard, hotel not on the beach quite far from paphos but you can catch a bus. Entertainment ok but can get a bit boring after a few days. My main complaint about this hotel and why I would not go back was all the ANTS everywhere in room it was horrible and our balcony covered in them, we complained and the maid came to clean them one day but they just kept coming back, we ended up having to get our own ant spray. And wild cats everywhere, I dont mind cats but they were literally everywhere made me feel itchy.

    Good value

    We visited the Akteon in mid November weather averaged 27 degree's bright sunshine, but obviously it got dark earlier about 6ish. Our first floor apartment was spacious and in general good condition. The amenities at the village are great and the food was of a good standard. Staff were friendly and professional. Easy access to Pathos by bus and the airport only 20 minutes away. We enjoyed our mini winter break here.
