  Good value for money

  Old hotel but with decent sized, clean and comfortable rooms offering lovely sea views from the bedroom balcony. Ideal for travellers who are out most of the day and only to return to the Hotel to sleep. Helpful and friendly staff.

  Great location, but not much else

  The view from my room was stunning: it directly faced the sea and - as another reviewer put it - it made you feel like you were on a boat. To be honest, though, in Gythio a sea view is hardly unique. On the other hand, the hotel is quite old and a little run-down: the bathroom in particular was extremely small and badly lit. The breakfast was extremely disappointing (there was simply not much to eat!), although the waiters were kind and friendly, and the room in which it was served was too small for the hotel - resulting in queues at rush hour. Also, the central location entails noise at all hours coming from the street and makes it almost impossible to find parking near the hotel. Im not sure I would stay here again.

  Another stay at this lovely Hotel

  We've just returned from our second 14-night stay at the Aktaion and I'd reiterate everything that I said in last year's review. Delightful, helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful views, great breakfasts, good location. We're about to book another two weeks next year.......what more can I say?

  Enjoyable stay

  Enjoyed our 4 night stay in this classic hotel. Although its a budget hotel, the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was basic - but just what I would expect in Greece. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the two ladies who served breakfast were delightful. The location and views were perfect.

  Just Lovely

  If you want modern & trendy then this is not the place for you. If you want a place with character and history, this will be more up your street. We had a triple room which worked fine for us. It felt a little bit small but the views from shuttered windows made up for that niggle. The fact that we could sit on the little balcony and watch the sunrise was awesome and it really is a fabulous view. Parking was okay - the street opposite had plenty of space to park. Cracking breakfast. And staff are absolutely lovely.
