  Presidential Let Down

  Saddens me to leave such an awful review about an establishment in a country I have fallen in love with. This was my 4th visit to Bulgaria and I have stayed in over 20 different hotels. This was by far my worst experience of customer service. We booked and paid for a night in the Presidential Suite, which when we arrived, was clearly occupied by someone else. That resulted in an overnight stay in an apartment which was ok but the hotel have refused to refund me the difference. The apartment was fit for purpose but lacking attention to detail with minor issues that you would not expect from such an expensive hotel by Bulgarian standards. Empty soap, curtains falling down, washing up left on the side, lights not working, TV not working and shortage of toilet roll! In addition the photos are very misleading, fountain and stream not working, roof top terrace dirty, unused and tatty old furniture. And the list of facilities is incorrect. Restaurant not open and certainly not A la Carte and no idea where the Spa, Pool and Wellness Centre was. When next in Sofia will go back to the amazing Amsterdam.

  Funcional

  Hotel con decoración mitológica griega. Está algo alejado del centro aunque hay un barrio animado cerca para salir por la noche y cenar. La instalaciones del hotel están bien, el desayuno bueno pero hay que solicitar la limpieza de la habitación cada día. Si no avisas no hacen las camas ni cambian las toallas.

  A woefully bad experience

  Hotel is not as described.... rooftop terrace had two plastic chairs and table. Bottles and dirty glasses left up there all during our stay! Breakfast was very poor.. cereals left out uncovered on the table for days.. a few packaged croissants and a few measly items of fruit. Room was not cleaned during our stay and had to ask for toilet paper. No food anywhere near us so had to get a pizza delivered!! Spa wasnt open.. wasnt even offered! Noisy with dogs barking and beware of falling conkers! Its not near anything.. well anything you can walk to! I would never revisit! All in all my experience in bulgaria has been horrendous! Scam artists everywhere and nothing is quite as described!

  Abysmal - everything but what you would expect

  We arrived at the hotel late. Met by a friendly enough receptionist. We had breakfast booked for our 4 night stay (see picture below) same cereal left out for entire stay. Toasters with no bread available, 1 single packaged chocolate filled. Croissant. Nothing else available - hotel boasts restaurant and 2 bars, not true.. No food available + cans of beer and coffee from bar. The pictures as per the website while they reflect the actual building apart from the fire damaged bedroom, the the place is not looked after and appears abandoned. It is not quiet but surrounded by barking dogs and chestnuts falling all night onto a metal surface. Room was not checked daily. Had to request toilet paper from reception. On the second last day the cleaner came in and made a half attempt to make the beds stuffing blankets into the wardrobe. The rest of the hotel was dusty, and cobwebs visible. Specks of dirt throughout hotel carpets. The rooftop terrace has one table and 3 chairs with same rubbish stored up there from check-in until we left. There is a 'taxi' service available. We got a taxi at approx 2pm into the city for 10 lev but were told we would have to be collected at 6 as the taxi drivers would scam and charge a lot. Second day we got a taxi to boyana church and again were collected an hour later as he was busy. Could not see the church as there was an hours wait due to only 8 people being permitted entry at a time. We returned to the hotel where the taxi driver sat drinking coffee for the next two hours. Following this as we had organised transport from the hotel back to the airport, the taxi driver was not impressed and had no interest in bringing us anywhere as it seemed as it would not be worth his while. No restaurants or anything you can easily walk to without risk of being run over. Had to get pizza delivery to hotel which the initial receptionist we met was happy to ring for us.

  Great room

  Great room, vary spacious, very good money/quality ratio, good neighbourhood, polite staff, baths with cabin, not easy to find in Bulgaria. Vitosha mountain is very close to the hotel. Also very close to the shopping malls and ring road
