  Not worth the stay.

  1) When we arrived our taxi driver said he didn't have change. So we went to the reception and they were not willing to help us out and change 5000 rupees into 5x1000. Even though the drawer was full of bills that we saw when we paid for our beds. Also one of the most expensive stays in Sri Lanka. Next we were shown our beds. The room was OK, but very basic. AC was just blowing wind and didn't provide any cooling. Showers have to be shared and there is no hot water. The pool from the picture was tiny and not very clean. We had the most expensive lunch of our 16 days holiday and also the most deceptive one. Furthermore this is not a hostel. It is a hotel and some part of it has rooms with shared bathrooms. So don't expect the any hostel feeling. All in all we regret to have stayed there. It is nice to be close to the airport but you can easily arrange for a taxi to pick you up anywhere in negombo. Even at night.

  Scam

  This is a scam. I booked and paid for two nights and airport pick up but there was no one to collect me and when I took a taxi to the hotel it had shut down. I was left stranded, a woman on my own, in a strange country at 2am. I'm only giving this one star to enable me to post this review.

  Dont go here! This is the worst place i have ever stayed. The room was dirty, humid and insects on the bed. No running water, no working airco, no working WiFi and the pool was also very dirty! At departure they made us pay dubble the price (we found out later because we had no internet to check the price).

  WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED IN

  Shabby hotel. Rude staff. Terrible conditions. Unacceptable standards. We booked this hotel as we had an early flight and it was in a convenient location to the airport. The hotel is shabby and looks like its been neglected recently but it would have done ok. However at 10pm it turned in to a night club. Loud music played directly above our heads and reverberated the building to the extend that the windows were rattling. Upon getting out of bed in my pyjamas and passing drunk party attendees outside my room the hotel staff accordingly: - Told me it would finish at midnight. Then at 1am. They lied both times, it finally finished at 2am; - That they would ask for the music to be turned down. They lied, if anything it was turned up; - Did not apologies and I had to insist on an alternative room in a different part of the hotel. It was still extremely loud and the air con rattled with the base from the music; - Laughed when I said it wasnt acceptable and asked me why I was complaining when the attendees were having fun at the party (I wasnt the only hotel guest complaining)when in reality it was cause they were making more money out of the party; - Told me that it was Valentines Day and of course there would be a party, that I should be understanding of their culture. At this point it was nearly 2am on Saturday 16th Feb; - Said the manager was out he would be back soon and he would process a refund in the morning. They lied, the manager was there and they were pretending he wasnt. They kept saying he would turn up soon but he obviously didnt. In the morning the same staff said the manager still wasnt there and refused a refund. They just wanted to take our money and fob us off until there was nothing we could do about it but get a couple of hours sleep and then leave early in the morning to get our flight.

  Great room service and close to airport

  I stayed 1 night at the end of my 16 day trip . I arrived early evening and received a warm welcome at reception . My bags were quickly taken to my room and as I had an early start the receptionist arranged for dinner to brought to my room . The food arrived promptly , it was plentiful and very tasty . Great service . My room was spacious with a comfy bed and very hot shower . I also had excellent WiFi reception . I had to leave early next morning but staff were available and quickly processed my check out . Although only a short stay staff did everything they could to give me a friendly welcoming stay .
