  Why did I stay here - location, convenience, apartments with a great pool

  ULTIQA Air On Broadbeach is literally across a road from the beach = location. It sits above the Oasis Shopping Centre that provides access to a range of shops including Woolworths = convenience They are apartments only = great for families The pool is large and great for kids whilst being safe and shallow and includes a toddler pool = pool. I should state I have stayed here before. Having said all of this: 1. Rooms are dated 2. Shower pushes out a drizzle of water 3. Rooms were all tiled (they are cold and uncomfortable) 4. Blinds were so poor that they didn't block out the sun that blazes through the windows at just after 5am On balance I probably would have stayed at the Ultiqua Air On Broabeach other than the great deal I paid over the Xmas and NY period...Since it is quite expensive compared to some others in the vicinity. If you do stay, get an ocean view room. Broadbeach as a location is fantastic. Not far from the madness of Surfers Paradise, beautiful beach BUT very rough and unsafe for weak swimmers, tourists beware, short drive from all the theme parks, great play areas for kids and great restaurants below the hotel and in the surrounding streets.

  Courteous Staff

  We had a very pleasurable stay at the resort and would like to commend the reception staff for their courteous service. In particular, Maryanne always helped us with a smile on her face and we are very appreciative for this. We look forward to staying here again.

  Great location

  Had a nice stay at ultiqa air on Broadbeach recently. The location is great - very close to everything, and the rooms were clean. However, the room felt a little sterile for wont of a better word (fine for the price) but the major issue we had was with the terrible smell on the floor we were on. It smelt like rotting garbage in the main areas of the floor as we walked towards the elevators quite strongly for the duration of our stay which was quite unpleasant.

  Fantastic 3 bedroom apartment

  We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 2 level apartment with 3 bathrooms. The ocean and surrounding view was absolutely spectacular. Very clean, super spacious apartment. The master bedroom and en-suite was huge. The position of the building is marvelous. Can walk to beach, shops, Pacific Fair, cafes and restaurants. This very advantageous as you need to go several levels up to reach the accommodation secure car parking. We received 3 free car spaces the entire stay. Reception and other staff were excellent. There was a problem with one of the Blinds which was fixed as soon as possible. As we stayed 5 nights we got a service with fresh linen and cleaning, which was great. Well definitely be back!

  Most negative experience with a hotel

  My partner and I booked a 2 night stay at ULTIQA. We called up around 430PM as we were going to be checking in late. The person that picked up was obviously trying to clock off ASAP, she was rude and abrupt on the phone when I was enquiring about after hours check in procedure. Upon arrival and following the directions given over the phone, I waited 45mins to reach someone to let me into the luggage room to retrieve my keys. We stayed on level 27. See attached pictures of what we arrived to. We found stains on multiple pillows, dust stuffed in between the cupboards, drawers and roller tracks of the closet, various white stains on the carpet, boxes left in the closet and a rusty fan. In light of COVID, finding bodily fluids on pillows indicated to us that cleanliness and hygiene were not a priority at this hotel. We called the after hours and they got the manager to meet us in the lobby (Pam). Even after seeing the photos, Pam proceeded to tell us that it was the room that we booked as we booked a standard room and not a premium room. I wasnt aware that you needed to pay extra for a clean room in 2021. She also tried to tell us that because we booked through hotels.com that they didnt allow them to post the conditions of the rooms. Pam insisted that we didnt book a refurbished room but was clearly not listening as we didnt care that the room was older and unrefurbished - we just expected a standard of hygiene and cleanliness. She said that they were booked out and to call them directly to book next time. Pam advised us to take the pillows and put it in the second room as there was only two of us and shut the door. She did not offer to come up to inspect the room or offer an alternative solution. As it was evident that she could not (or would not) hear what we were trying to tell her, we checked out and booked somewhere else. We called the third party provider to advise them of the situation and they followed up with the hotel. A lovely receptionist Brenda called us the next day and advised that the manager would give us a call on Monday. Come Monday, it is after midday, still no call, so we followed up. We were advised that we would only get a refund of one night stay even though we were at the hotel for less than 45mins. We were promised an email confirmation of this refund and still have not received anything. Weve stayed in numerous places in Broadbeach and have never been this disgusted by a 4-star residence. Feeling that our health and safety would be compromised by staying at the hotel, we left. And it is safe to say that we will not be calling direct the hotel to book for better prices.
