A little GemI stayed here in this amazing apartment complex with my husband and 2 small children (aged 7 & 3) from the 23rd August - 6th September 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The resort is small with only 13 apartments which means it is quiet and while being slightly out of the way there is a mini market, several tavernas and bars within a 10-15 minute walk. We knew this before hand and hired a car for our 2 week stay which enabled us to explore the island. Its approx a 10 minute drive from Kefalonia airport which is a brilliant transfer time and is only a 15-20 minute drive to the island capital of Argostoli. The apartments are basic but had everything we needed, the air conditioning was 5 a day and worth every penny as it was boiling hot. The beds were comfy and we had 2 balconies, the bathroom is small with the shower next to the toilet and when showering the floor did get wet but we just used one of the many towels supplied by the staff to dry the floor (no hardship). Due to COVID the cleaners were not allowed to enter your room without permission so we only had the room cleaned 3 times during our stay but the cleaners were amazing and used to lend us the brush to sweep the floors and bring us clean towels in between cleans. We either left our rubbish outside the door for the cleaners to remove or we took it with us to one of the many communal bins alongside the road on our way to the local gyro house or taverna. It was great how everyone adapts to the situation and we didnt need our room cleaning daily and are more than capable of making a bed. The staff at the apartments were lovely and so helpful with answering any questions and advising of the best places to visit also the small bar next to the pool supplied cold drinks and ice creams at a reasonable price. The closest beach is the Ai Helis beach which is a 10 minute walk but is accessed by a steep incline so not suitable for people with mobility problems. It is a beautiful sand beach with a bar and you can hire a parasol and 2 sun beds for 8 a day, all the sun beds etc were sprayed with antiseptic spray between use. For us this hotel had a lovely family feel and due to the small size meant we became friends with others staying in the apartments, it is not a place for teenagers as there isnt a great deal to keep them occupied but for couples and families with younger children it is fantastic. The island is beautiful and I would recommend hiring a car to explore the delights such as Sami, Melissani caves and Asos. We also spent several nights in Argostoli and got to see the amazing sea turtles the area is famous for. We as a family felt safer in Kefalonia during the pandemic than we do at home, social distancing and wearing of masks is adhered to and hand alcohol gel was on EVERY table in restaurants etc. The location, facilities and staff made these apartments perfect for us and we will definitely be visiting again! Thank you Ai Helis Resort for a fabulous 2 week holiday my children havent smiled this much in several months

Friendly welcoming resortJust returned from a weeks holiday. The apartment was surprisingly nice for a 2T rating. Large rooms, comfy beds and a balcony with gorgeous views. The windows are landscape so you have views from all angles. The pool area is lovely and its nice to sit and have a drink at their little bar. The beach is no more than a 10 minute walk with steps leading down to a gorgeous beach with beach bar and sun beds etc. Mini market, bar and restaurant is a 10 minute ( take a torch). George at the apartments pretty Much runs the place, speaks good English and was always friendly and helpful. The only negative is the shower which definitely needs upgrading. Trickle of water and wets the bathroom flor a lot!. Would definitely stay again. One if the most relaxing holidays weve experienced. Not for teenagers. This is a quiet resort.

Peaceful, nice staff but needs some TLCPositives - the area is really peaceful and quiet, enough tavernas and facilities for a low-key simple break (not for anyone wanting to party or have lots of choices in terms of eateries and bars in close walking distance) - Comfy beds and pillows - I had the best sleep I've ever had on holiday! - The staff were great and the pool area was nice and relaxing - We hired a car and were easily able to visit great places like Argostoli, Skala (fab beach) and do a few big supermarket trips - The closest beach was beautiful and well worth the 15 minute walk and trek up and down the steep stony hill. Not-so-positives - considering other people's reviews we can only assume we got the rubbish rooms that are hardly ever used because they're awaiting upgrading. - our room was basic (as you'd expect in Greece 2T) but in all honesty the fixtures and fittings were circa 1970s, broken (our bed head was hanging down badly on one side, the bathroom grid/drain was broken and led to serious flooding) and was in much need of general updating and decorating - Unfortunately when you looked more closely, the room wasn't very clean - particularly the bathroom - the tiles around the sink and loo were a shocker and didn't look like they'd been cleaned for a very very long time! - There was nothing to hang wet swimwear or towels on to dry. - The view from our terrace balcony was ok but nowhere near as nice as other reviewers' - we had olive trees in a dusty area/ car park which meant clouds of dust all over everything whenever someone parked up or left! - Wifi was rubbish in our room but much better around the pool. Would we stay again? Yes - but only if we were certain of getting a better quality, clean upper floor room, preferably at the front.

Lovely peaceful place ...I stayed in these lovely apartments with my husband and our daughter who is in her 20s for 2 weeks , we picked this place as it only has 13 apartments and was off the beaten track in a small resort which is what we like and look for it a holiday , 10 to 15 mins walk gets you to a hand full of very nice restaurants the sunset from the ones on the sea front is amazing to watch , and a couple of supermarkets , the pool area is a delightful area , the pool is large for a small complex ideal for relaxing after a hard year at home , never once had a issue getting a sun bed the room we had was a one bed apartment overlooking the pool and was spacious and well equipped for our needs . The only thing that spoilt our stay was the arrival of a family from hell (1 mother 4 teenagers ) who were not particularly well behaved and spent most of the week they were there drunk (even though 2 of them werent old enough ! ) and arguing with the owners, the other holiday makers and themselves, which did make everyone uneasy while they where around , I guess they were in the wrong resort but should have had a bit of respect for the others around them , we even rented a car to get away from them , hiring a car is a great way to explore the very many beautiful places this island has . But I would definitely return to this lovely secluded place again

Cheap and cheerful (ish)These apartments are in a lovely quiet spot and a nice area of the island. Car is ideal as it is not a built up area but very tranquil as a result. The apartments are functional with small kitchen and en-suite bathroom. The decor is very tired, circa late 1980s is my guess. No real effort is put into making the place nice which is a shame because it could be lovely. Owners are indifferent. They made no effort to inform or help guests during 2 days without power following a storm. The situation wasnt their fault but they did nothing to support guests e.g. by providing information, torches at night or hot water in the mornings. Other local family owners did this for the guests. So if youre happy with cheap and no frills this place is fine but its not representative of Greek hospitality and there are much nicer places to stay in the area.
