BeautifulWonderful place both in winter and in summer. Wonderful place both in winter and in summer. The scenery is gorgeous, landscape of gullies. I think that you arrive by public transport, but of course by car. If you pass in this area you have to do to force a break.

Good services, amazingly clean and well-maintained - SPA even more than aquaparkClose to Bologna, with two nice access roads: the one through Castel San Pietro Terme and Strada Provinciale 21 (SP21) is very easy, the more direct one via Strada Provinciale 7 gets much narrower and winding after Monterenzio, and it's even more picturesque. The aquapark component is pleasant, if more suitable to younger children and a bit sedate for grown-ups. The spa component is extremely pleasant: it has a warm pool with an outside section and a warmer pool, very good and large sauna and turkish bath, small but fully adequate for a relatively busy day in the middle of the holiday season. Additional services like massages and mud baths are available, we have left them aside. There are multiple options for eating, including "Trattoria Sillaro" where we had a full meal and others with lighter or faster option. The trattoria is reasonably priced, which is especially positive in places like this where management needs to increase margins on optional services after keeping entrance fees low. Surprisingly enough, it's good, too! We had a mixed salad clearly coming from hand-washed and cut vegetables rather than supermarket ready-to-eat bags, standard tagliatelle with ragù meat sauce and a less trivial lemon-and-ham sauce spaghetti; at 20 Euros per person, even without a main course, we might well have rated this a 4 in its own right. Last, cleanliness and maintenance: I am the kind of person who will put my bare feet on a less-than-clean floor if I just have to, but notice it and try to avoid it. This place felt perfectly clean and extremely well kept, with so few wear and tear signs well into a busy summer season that I wondered if it had just opened this year - just some tiles missing and some rust that requires closing the facility for fixing. Highly recommended

Nice surpriseKinda in the middle of nowhere, there is this huge swimming pool resort. We stayed in winter time so only indoor pools were accessible. It got a bit crowded during the weekend but it was still a cool experience. Food was overall good though sometimes service was slow. The self service restaurant looks of a lower level. tried the massage at SPA, not impressed. Overall, we would go again, specially to check it in the warmer season with all the outdoor pools open.

Outdoor pools are amazing. Breakfast and buffet are very disappointing. The pools are sublime. They are set in various locations going up the hillside and are all fun and different. It's a great place to take kids but it's also big enough to be very relaxing for anyone who wants peace and quiet. Beautiful views too. The spa sells itself as 'thermal baths' but I really don't think the waters are proper thermal bath waters. I think it's just hot water! I could be wrong but there was none of the typical sulphuric smell and a weekend there offered me no health improvements (I had sinus problems). I spent a night at the agriturismo and the room was fine but if it had been hot and I'd needed to keep the windows open, I would have been disturbed by the noise of the generator nearby. On a summer weekend I would imagine you'd be disturbed by the day guests arriving too. The only really bad thing was the buffet and breakfast room. At a health spa you expect good quality, healthy ingredients and dishes. The salad bar was very ordinary - like in a work canteen! There was only white bread on offer which surprised me. The breakfast was even worse. Bought cakes, white bread, artificial fruit juice and no offer of freshly squeezed orange juice or fresh fruit to eat. Perhaps the hostel and the campsite are better value. And there is a proper restaurant which I'm sure is better, though definitely more expensive than the buffet option. The staff were friendly. I would recommend going to the outdoor pools to enjoy as a fun and luxurious pool park, but not bothering with the spa or the agriturismo.

What can I say?! Fantastic! My father and I based ourselves here for two days in mid October 2016 to be able to retrace my grandfathers footsteps in WWII in the surrounding areas of monte spaduro and Castel Del Rio. The hotel as a bonus had a small museum on site which was great to explore before our trip began. On arrival staff were very friendly and although initially struggled with the language barrier were very helpful and checked us in quickly. My father and I booked two single rooms and both were very clean, well maintained and offered a real view into Italian rural lifestyle. Only one quibble would be with the lack of lighting in the rooms in the evening - although this was very much in keeping with the setting. We tried both the main restaurant and self-service dinner and both offered a fantastic range and selection. As a vegetarian I was very surprised and thankful to find vegetarian and organic products in such a rural setting! Our waiter was fantastic, very chatty and very informative. Sad to say I can't remember his name but he really made our stay. Nice to see a friendly face both in the evenings and at Breakfast! Breakfast was fantastic. A great selection of locally (on site) produce products and fantastic strong coffee. We didn't have time to use the Spa and swimming pool facilities. Although both looks fantastic on a short tour of the facilities on arrival. However it was a real bonus these were free to use for Hotel guests on Friday and Saturday nights. Thanks for a fantastic stay!
