Genuine Italian experience!
Lovely farm on a slope with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean sea exquisitly decorated in rural style surrounded with plants and trees. The four course dinners consisted of genuine Italian dishes and were the highlight of our visit. The rooms are quite simple but with focus on the necessities (like a well-functioning air conditioner). A small kitchen area allowed us to make our own lunches and the occassional Swedish "fika". Although the farm is very quiet and peaceful we always felt welcome with our children. Everyone in the staff helped to make the stay a joy with their service-oriented attitude.

Simply excellent
We had a great stay here. The food was delicious, the landscape spectacular and the service was really good. As regards the hotel it was very nice with comfortable beds. We Will definitavely come back! Best regards, Bengan & Nettan

Lovely vacation in genuine Italian style!
Our family had a great vacation at hotel Ruralia. If you want to get close to the real Italian lifestyle in Calabria, this is the place to stay. What we appreciated most was the local food, cooked at the restaurant from local ingredients. We also appreciated the friendly atmosphere, the lovely garden and the owner who cared a lot about his guests. And the pool was beautiful -and clean! Staff was service-oriented.If you´re looking for a posh place with club-life, this is not your hotel but if you want to relax and just enjoy the silence, this is perfect. Our room would need a little update though, that`s the only suggestion from us. We will go back next year to the same hotel.

Quiet place, good food, friendly staff, fantastic view
We had a one week holiday with our two young kids (1 and 3 years old). The staff was friendly and even though we dont speak Italian, with German, few words in English we managed. Breakfast was good and luxurious (croissants, fresh fruit, bread, cereals, egg , good coffee, etc). Dinner even better, with basic good Italian food and four courses every evening. The interior of our appartment needed a fix, but with two small kids and being outside all day it did not bother us. All the necessary things were there: oven, hairdryer, bedding, towels, airco, baby bed. The appartment was cleaned every other day. The view was spectacular: Stromboli and the sea in one sight. And our kids loved hearing and seeing the train in the valley. The swimming pool was clean and even in June a bit cold but doable. Ruralia is on a hill, but we did a walking trip every day down to Santa Domenica , where there is a few shops, supermarket, restaurants, small playground and a train station to take you to Tropea within a few minutes. With a buggy a good climb back up, but if youre not afraid of a bit of exercise during your holiday no problem at all. Getting to the beach on foot was a bit too enthusiastic with two small kids,we advise to take a taxi, because it was a hard climb carrying a child.

Lovely place
Thanks Lorenzo for the great week at your hotel. Such a beautiful spot. Specially the room S1 with the best view ever! The room was big and the terrace perfect to have a great glass of wine before going to bed. The pool, stuff and breakfast was good! Big hug, all the best!
