  BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! VERY STRICT BOOKING RULES...

  I haven't stayed here but my father was intending to... My father booked this hotel so he could attend my wedding in Puglia in September 2018. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with a terminal illness soon after making the booking so I promptly made contact with booking.com to request a refund. The booking was made on a non-refundable basis so I was hoping the hotel would use their discretion and make a refund anyway. The hotel refused. My father passed away a few weeks later so I decided to contact the hotel again. Given the fact that they have plenty of time to re-sell the room and given the circumstances, I again hoped that they would agree to a refund. I spoke to booking.com who suggested that I call the hotel directly to explain. I spoke with Maria who told me she is the owner. She refused to make the refund. I tried to reason with her and asked that she use her discretion is these very special circumstances. Again she refused. Booking.com confirmed that there is no reason why she can't make the refund - it's more of the case that she 'won't". Just a warning to fellow travellers about the strict booking rules of this place AND the lack of compassion with some people...

  A pleasant stay but not the best in the area!

  We stayed here as we attended a wedding and the hotel at which the wedding was at was booked out. The host was friendly but speaks limited English. The pool area is nice and so are the grounds. Unfortunately, the rooms lack natural light and it was very difficult to apply make up for the wedding. Also the iron did not work properly and it was difficult to iron shirts etc for wedding. Also, the cleaners never replaced hand soap. The amenities provided are very poor and towels were so thin. The pillows were very uncomfortable and made it difficult to sleep well. The breakfast is standard for Italy. Mostly cheese, cold cuts and sweets- no hot breakfast. Overall, our stay here was fit for purpose but I wouldnt stay here again as there are better choices in the area.

  Terrible Experience

  I would not recommend staying at this hotel! Although the pictures look amazing online the buildings and rooms are unfinished: - Airconditioning and WiFi do not work - Many pipes and wires coming out of walls etc - Building debris surrounds the building The service and staff at San Leonardo were terrible and made us feel unwelcome for the duration of our stay: - I was denied room service because I was nursing my infant son in the room (no option of coming back 5 minutes later) - we were asked, during every breakfast, when we were leaving and paying - no glasswear, tea, coffee, soap, drinking water etc was available (as this is a remote location you would expect to be able to have a glass of wine on your terrace or a least a glass of water!). We were given plastic plates and plastic cups when asked. - During our 5 night stay I was questioned why I needed the sheets changed (baby had an accident). - Rotten fruit were served at every breakfast - Some rooms did not have a fridge If you are planning on staying here - you have been warned! I would highly recommend that you bring everything you need, including drinking water, cups etc. Better yet cancel your booking and go elsewhere.

  The Agriturismo Masseria was far from a luxurious stay. It was fit for purpose.

  The cost is reasonable. Maria, the caretaker is wonderful, friendly and helpful. We stayed between 27Oct-2Nov 2018 so it was off-peak, however, the property was expecting us and we were attending a conference. We met 8 other people who also chose to stay at Agriturismo Masseria San Leonardo who were also attending the conference. However, after a very long journey from South Africa, we arrived at the Agriturismo Masseria to find there is no proper reception. Just a desk at the dining hall were Maria transacts from. In addition, there was no hot water in any of the rooms. The air conditioning does not work on heat or cool mode. It took Maria more that 40min to fix the hot water issue. Again on the Tuesday night, we had no hot water, but there was no one on the property to have fix the issue. Thankfully our conference organisers arranged breakfast for us at another hotel as the breakfast at Agriturismo Masseria was very disappointing. We ate breakfast at Agriturismo Masseria on the day we checked out. Maria did try her best, but the coffee was cold, the boiled eggs were ice cold from the fridge and she had to warm up the bread and 1x cake she served as it was not fresh.

  Charming place full of character

  We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful masseria within an olive farm. Our rooms were large and comfortable. The swimming pool was much larger then we expected. Maria and Carolina looked after all the guests in their warm friendly manner.
