  Nice Trip to Toscana

  We had a nice stay at the "Isola Verde" with a some lovely evenings in the restaurant. The food is awesome, specially the "Ragu". Thanks to the whole family Tamburini. Karina & Habib (with the translator app;-)

  A Pearl in Tuscany

  This hotel was the first on our selfdrive-trip Pearls of Tuscany by Arke, but wished we could have stayed there longer. It was a good starting point for trips to Lucca, Pisa and Florence. We loved the ambiance and quietness of Tenuta Isola Verde. It was established in 1570 by Cosimo de Medici, his portrait was hanging over the reception desk . We made good German friends, like Habib and Karina. The building is typical Tuscan, a long alley witth cypresses leading towards it. It had a stunning view in alll directions, the nightingale sang all day, lizards dashed on every olive tree. A nice combination of nature and relax. It was too cold to test the pool. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was traditional sweet Italian. Though there was a common sitting and TV-room fo r the guest upstairs , everone preferred to stay in the restaurant in a friendly family atmosphere. The owner Riccardo Tamburini fondly offered a taste of his award- winning wines. His wife Maura prepared the dinners almost every evening. (the Ragu was already mentioned). She even made us home-made cantuccini on our wish. We felt most welcome and we willl certainly come back. Herman & Jeanne Berkhoudt, Leiden, The Netherlands

  Fabulous place!

  Really lovely place in Tuscany, equidistant from Florence, Siena and Pisa. Staff are delightful and courteous, pool is clean, the food and wine were excellent, and the rooms clean and comfortable. I would go back for sure, and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone.

  Do not trust them

  Do not trust them, they contacted us 2 days for arrival and let us pay 30% extra, even when you have screenshots and an booking comfirmation. Rude owner, No hospitality, do not go there, save yourself Some trouble.

  Mixed feelings about this place

  We booked very late and we did not had lot op options. We stayed for 10 days. I'll start positive: -location (bit remote) is marvellous, exactly how you envision farm in Tuscany. -rooms are clean -good breakfast (croissant, meat, cheese, yoghurt, all fine with good coffee /cappuccinos) -swimming pool is nice and quiet -around house a lot of quiet places to sit and relax What less good is: -foods dinner is not fresh -no animals and no farm atmosphere. There is a tour thought vineyards but against extra costs (10 euro each) -owner doesn't speak a word English -in evening restaurant suddenly closes, they don't say a goodbye or ask for final order and are just gone -during midday they are closed and you cannot order anything (not even drink) -our daughter slept few times when they wanted to clean. I told them cleaning was not needed just change towels. Owner came by and sad (using employees to translated) there is small extra fee and they don't change every day (every 2 days) but for now it was OK. At end we had to pay 20 Euros for one extra change (6 towels) and there was no discussion possible (owner gone). We didn't agree but employees couldn't help so decided to pay and leave. Ridiculous! For rest we enjoyed and we visit more agritourisimos for sure Ow finally the Italian employee that's did morning breakfast deserves pay increase. She knows (as only few there) what customer service is!
