  Absolute quietness in wild mountain surroundings and Etna views, amazing food and welcome, for couples and families/kids

  There are these B&B experiences that leave a special mark on you. This is one of the places we stayed and already can't wait to go back. We always select our B&Bs for their location. This one topped all our expectations. We like it quiete. If you need a good bar and evening action to be happy, this is NOT your place. The house lies on farm grounds 10 minutes drive from the next village of Santa Domenica and 20-25 minutes from Randazzo. We missed the entrance (as others as well..) but basically, if you come from Santa Domenica, after the last houses and about 5-10 minutes drive, after a sharp bend, comes this left hand private entrance. You will read of people complaining about the remote location on other sites and commenting like "nothing to do on location", but this is exactly why you want to be there!. Being located 300m from the road (see the photo -"AMAZING LOCATION") but separated from it by the hill you need to drive up, once at the house, you hear basically.... NOTHING. It was the one hotel during our two weeks in Sicily where i slept all without my ear plugs. The bed is a large double bed and very comfortable, even for my extremely sensitive and challenging back. The furniture was in a simple traditional style and very enjoyable. Storage was largely sufficient. If you dont mind the fresh air, sleep with the open window and wake up to an amazing view on the snow covered North summit of Etna. At 1200m altitude, this might also be one of the very few places in Sicily were you can sleep in fresh air without air condition even in the hottest summer weeks. The surroundings are simply amazing, in particular if you like the outdoors and idyllic strips of nature. The farm is nestled on the edge of a chestnut forrest. You can basically walk in every direction for hours. The farm grounds offer Heidi-like meadows for kids to run around and parents to enjoy a calm and relaxing moments for themselves. Within an hour or something drive, you will reach the flanks of Etna from which hikes depart, the centre of the Nebrodi National Park and its hikes, cultural locations, dozens of rock-planted steep stereotypical little film-like and over-picturesque villages, world famous Taormina, towns like Catania... The Cirumetnea, a little train driving all around the Etna, starts in Randazzo just 25 min from the house and offers a perfect day to discover the region at a slow pace and breaks in Catania.. But Giovanna and in particular Nino will tell you so much more about things to see and to do in all of Sicily if wished. Nino seems to know every stone within a 50km range. We stayed 5 nights and made the "horrible mistake" to eat only two times in Giovannas in-house restaurant. Il Noceto is a bio-farm and all products used at dinner come from there, incl meat, eggs, cheese, breads... The wine is delivered by near by producers and was a fantastic table wine. Giovanna's dinner is definitely a highlight of your stay. What a pleasure to have the most authentic family like Sicilian dishes without having to pick a restaurant, and not needing to drive home after thus mentionned wine! Dinner is prepared on request only (order in the morning). The quantities were just gargantuesque. I read comments elsewhere with guests complaining about the quantities (!), but please, you dont need to eat all.... The dinner is amazing value - for 20 EUR per person, you get three courses, wine (which Giovanna refilled as many times as we emptied it) and even local digestifs (nut schnaps, fruits...) The house was totally clean. I like to look for little cleaning defaults in the houses we visit, but was "disappointed" here. Finally, as so many other guests, we had the impression to stay with friends. Giovanna and Nino just can't stop taking care of their guests. We are happy to still be in contact. and, of course, can't wait to return, for a longer time.

  B&B in the Nebrodi Park

  The location is spot on and a perfect place to be after a long day exploring the Nebrodi park and the surroundings. the place is excellent for family, couples or a group of friend with motorbikes like we where... the food and wine where delicious and the rooms spotless.. This is one of the best B&B I stayed in and I highly recommended it..

  amazing value for money - highly recommended

  This agriturismo is situated on a farm in the mountains of Nebrodi overlooking the Etna. It is run by an Italian couple who speak fluent English and French. The rooms are spacious and clean. The surrounding area is beautiful and a perfect base to explore the Nebrodi region. Each night we ate at the agriturismo. The food is tasty, genuine, generous, honest home-cooked Sicilian fare. The meat is sourced from the farm itself. The price is also unbelievable - starter (e.g. crepes or pasta), main (some form of meat and sides), dessert (e.g. tiramisu or ricotta cake), water, wine and homemade nocino digestive - all for just 20 EUR a head!!!! You will not get a better deal anywhere. I cannot recommend this place too highly.

  Fantastic food and service in a tranquil setting

  The best way to find this place is to take the longitude and latitude and stick them in your satnav. Otherwise I guess it could be tricky to find, but it is definitely worth it. It does feel a bit in the middle of nowhere, but that is part of the charm. It is the perfect base, if you like to go on walks in nature. The view from the massive conservatory, where you can eat dinner and breakfast are amazing, overlooking Mount Etna. The hosts Giovanna and Nino treated us like family and fed us accordingly, with an abundance of food, all from the farm. The place was very tranquil and the service overall excellent. Don't miss out on Giovanna's potent but delicious home-made digestive Nocino.

  Very nice agriturismo, beautiful silent location, perfect hosts, excellent food

  We travelled a lot in different countries on different continents and the Agriturismo Il Noceta is definitely one of the charmest accommodations we have ever used. We loved it so much because the hosts are perfect, the location is beautiful and the food is excellent. It is located very beautiful on a small hill in the Nebrodi mountains, in total 12 km from Randazzo, approx. a 20 minutes drive since the mountain road has many curves. But, no question, the Il Noceto is worth that drive. Leaving Randazzo, the road climbs up the hill and gives beautiful views of Randazzo after each curve. In the middle of the drive, approx. 6 km from Randazzo, there is the picturesque small village Santa Domenica Vittoria, which is still intact with bakery, butcher and a small shop with typical local food (cheese, ham), which prepairs tasty sandwiches for you upon your order. From the Il Noceto you have a beautiful view to the Mount Etna. The Il Noceta is a few hundred meters above the road and it is silent you do not hear the cars on the road. It is a good location for visiting Randazzo, the Mount Etna, the Nebrodi Mountains, the Riserva Naturale Orientata Bosco di Malabotta and any other sights in the north-east of Sicily, like Taormina etc. (assuming that you have a car). The rooms are beautiful with typical mountain style furnitures, everything clean, needless to mention. From the building style, the cows and sheep (which cannot come directly to the Agriturismo since there is a fence) and surrounding landscape, the place could be also located in the Alps or Dolomites. If you would like to enjoy the view to Mount Etna and spend some time on the Agriturismo, the owners will give you comfortable garden chairs. The owners, an elderly couple, are so kind and friendly and we really loved them. The breakfast is good and the dinner is excellent. There is also homemade jam on the breakfast table. You get each evening a 3 course homemade dinner of delicious Italian and Sicilian cuisine and plain fare. Everything is fresh and own cooked and no convenience products. We are gourmets and we know what we are talking about. If you have a special wish for dinner, the owners are pleased to prepare it for you. The owners are also gentlemen and have interesting conversions with their guests. The rates for the rooms and the dinner are reasonable and fair. We stayed 5 days in the Il Noceta. We loved that place and the owners so much, that we would like to go there again as long as the owners run it.
